Are they running out of Republicans?

The traditional wisdom is that stuff all starts at the top and works its way down
the chain. In a speech by Barak Obama recently….he refuted that concept and said
that his candidacy proves that it can happen from the “bottom – up”! Proposition 93
which went down to defeat has caused quite a stir here in the State of California –

Senate leadership….shows us….that we can be grateful for the California
Initiative Process……AGAIN! Lots of people are out on TERM LIMITS….thank
you People of California….AGAIN!

If you haven’t been following the many key retirements for Republicans throughout
the Congress and Senate…..there are some momentous ones. Naturally, every one
we like seem to be leaving: Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Trent Lott, Congressman John
Shadegg and so many more. Something seems to be going on everywhere in
Republican World! Locally, Dick Ackerman is out on term limits and the great
Tom McClintock now has to run for Congress…to stay in the game. According to
the Dan Walters article in the Sacramento Bee…..the Democrats could be looking at securing a 2/3 super majority in both houses….in California! This leaves us
with that sick to our stomach feeling that we will be going back to the days of
Pete Wilson when the Republican Governor has to negotiate and capitulate with
the heavily weighted Democrat majority – on each and every issue!

This link should give you a chance to look over the various Governors of the Golden
State from the beginning! They weren’t all Leland Stanford or Hiram Johnson’s types as we know. Of course we want Tom Selleck to be our next Governor…but being that
the Writer’s Strike just ended…we will have to see what happens to Tom’s career
after that Vegas show. The supposed Dem front-runner Antonio Villaraigosa is now
basically “damaged goods” with the Latino/Latina community! Throwing sex with a
“Mistress” in the face of that community….seldom endears the offender, no matter
what other fine attributes they might exhibit.

So, as we can see…the various elections of 2008 are going to be a “Defining Moment
in Political History in the United States”. The argument is….that this is just
part of the cycling of the system. We don’t think so! Republicans are going to
have a very tough time going to the polls and voting for McCain. McCain is not
the archetypal Republican Banner carrier! As we can see, the numbers of defections
and early retirements of many stalwart Republicans in 2008, is a harbinger of very
tough times ahead for partisan politics. What seems amazing, is that just a few
months ago…when the spectre of Rudy Giuliani dispatching Hillary in the national
election…sent shock waves throughout the Democratic party. Many were saying that
the Democratic Party may evaporate in 2008. Pundits were shouting, that Democrats
were just plain “obsolete”! Well, things change! Senators; John Warner, Larry Craig, Chuck Hagel, Thad Cochran and Lamar Alexander are all rumored to retire, as well.
Can the Republicans re-capture these seats? Finding “a cause celeb personality”
to take their places will be challenging.

Meanwhile, how many other State Legislatures are going to follow California into
a total Democratic take-over? Do the Republicans still have time to recover from
this lay-down? We will have to see! And finally, what about “the Ralph Nader
Factor”? Could that affect anything? Actually Ralph will affect who we see on
the Sunday Morning talk shows through the November 2008 election! Wesley Clarke,
Madeline Albright, Lanny Davis and Ralph Nader! Uggh…can’t they ever get more creative – than the usual suspects?

So, good-by Republican Party! We had our Reagan and Bush years….and we should
not be greedy! We held back the time of Social Intervention…as best we could.
But now, National Socialism is what people apparently want! We have shipped all
our good middle class jobs out of the country..and invited every illegal person
we can to come here to do our menial jobs! Our Social Security System now causes people to soon retire at age 75!! Right now it is 70…to get maximum! People seem convinced that the “Hillary Care”….or the English System of Health Care..is the way to go! The good news is they will fold Medicare…..if everyone has Hillary Care
…why would we need Medicare, Veteran Care…or any other health insurance?

Taxes for people making over $40K….will soon be paying 55% taxes! Hillary will
probably then pick Mike Huckabee to close down the IRS so we can charge 24% tax
on everything sold in the United States! The push for a big VAT will soon follow
along with a Robert Poole tax on every mile we drive – every year! Ron Paul can
now become an American Independent Party candidate! John Edwards will become Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. He can put on
his Jack Kemp Buffalo Bills team jersey so we all can sing Kum-by-ya – with a
fine tuned bi-partisan harmony!!!!

Congratulations Democrats; you did a great job on the Republican party!
The last Republican to leave….don’t forget to turn off the lights – the
party is over!
