Disappearing mayors?

Interesting story on the AP wire about the Mayor of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Apparently he had to resign after he disappeared for two weeks. “City officials last heard from Levy on Sept. 26, when he called in sick, climbed into his city-issued Dodge Durango and seemingly vanished.”

So if I understand this story correctly, this guy resigned because no one could get a hold of him and he had disappeared? Am I the only one who thinks that sounds exactly like Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido?

Unless you are giving him a check, you usually don’t see Pulido around much. And he does drive a hybrid car that was lent to him by the Air Quality Management District (he is on their board of directors).

My favorite excerpt from the AP wire is “Levy’s disappearance roiled this casino resort, where four of the eight mayors that preceded him were arrested on corruption charges.” Well, at least their consistent!
