The OC GOP machine loves to slam Republicans who back Democrats, but Martin Wisckol revealed in today’s O.C. Register that Van Tran “helped elect Democratic labor activist Andrew Nguyen to the Westminster school board.”
Wisckol added that “Tran is also friendly and helpful to Andrew Nguyen and to Democrat Madison Nguyen. Madison Nguyen is a groundbreaking councilwoman representing a large Vietnamese population in the predominantly Democratic city of San Jose.”
Double standard anyone?
Here is what Tran has to say about all this, “Part of being a leader is building coalitions,” Tran said. “I think party distinctions will become more defined as time goes by. But as long as there are issues like human rights and democracy in Vietnam
But Madison Nguyen is hot. How could Van Tran ever say no to her? I definitely wouldn’t.
I beg your pardon. Janet Nguyen is a distant second to being the only Vietnamese elected official interested in representing all constituent groups. Let’s not forget about KimOanh Nguyen-Lam, who sits on the GGUSD school board and is fluent in Spanish at an academic level. Dr. Nguyen-Lam’s voice has been heeded by the superintendent in hiring a more diverse and representative administrative and teaching cadre. In fact, in the last few years, the GGUSD has been much more proactive in hiring Hispanic administrators than perhaps any other district in OC. Andrew Nguyen, the ambitious and self-serving Westminster School Board member, has been shameful to the Democratic and Independent cause in his support of fellow Trannie, Trung Nguyen, in last year’s supervisorial battle. I hope you agree that Janet and KimOanh, respective Republican and Democrat, are both quality elected officials who want to transcend the ugliness of partisian extremists. In other words, they just want to to the job they were elected to do-represent all the people.
Poster 2,
If only KimOanh Nguyen-Lam would run against Van Tran for the 68th Assembly District!
Democracts never give KimOanh any credit. She lives in fountain valley and can take out Van Tran in the assembly. No wonder why people like Andrew Nguyen are close to Van Tran.
The Dems won’t support them at all
andrew nguyen is the most self serving politican at its worst.
he supported trung and then walk for umberg. he was ousted by a fellow democract who pointed out that he was a “traitor” when he went to walk for umberg for supervisor.
the teachers union should be ashamed for supporting this “DINO”
What a traitor
Supes only have about half-a-dozen or so staffers. Take away Andrew Do, Matt Harper, Janet’s sister, that guy who worked for McClintock, and there’s not much room for “a number of Latinos.”
Stop blowing smoke, Art.
Poster 7,
Supervisor Nguyen has hired at least two Latino outreach personnel. I don’t know them. One came from Riverside and the other was a referral from a friend of mine.
I am fairly sure that Supervisor Nguyen has other Latino staffers, as I recall meeting a few of them when I visited her office during her open house.
How many Latino staffers do you think Trung Nguyen would have hired? That’s what I thought.
So 2 Latinos equals “a number of Latinos”? There’s nothing wrong with just being precise, Art, rather than habitually overstating things.
How many Latino staffers do you think Trung Nguyen would have hired? That’s what I thought.
Can’t you ever stick to the point? Your the master of changing the subject whenever a commenter points out your mistakes or errors. You debate like a teenager.
Wasn’t Trung Nguyen’s campaign manager latino?
Poster 9,
??? Doesn’t “a number” mean anything more than one? I know she has two Latino outreach staffers, and I know that I met other Latino staffers at her open house.
I don’t know the precise figure, therefore I used the phrase “a number.” That was appropriate.
The bottom line is that Janet has been working very well with the Latino community in her district. I don’t think we could have said the same for Trung. He made it clear how he felt about Latinos during his campaign.
Poster 11,
Are you referring to Saolo Londono? Beats me. Sounds Portuguese to me. You will have to ask him if he is a Latino.
What I do know is that Trung distributed offensive campaign material that included him on the border with Mexico personally stopping the immigrants. Londono should have stopped that junk from going out.
Had Trung won, he would have been the Supervisor for a district that includes a lot of immigrants. How would he have represented them when he obviously hates them?
I am glad the bigot lost.
FYI, Art — Janet doesn’t have any Latinos on her staff.
Not that we expect you to fact-check or anything.
