Santa Ana is hosting once again the “Fiestas Patrias” street fair this weekend. “Organizers expect some 200,000 people to attend over the course of the two days,” according to the O.C. Register.
What a great opportunity for Los Amigos, the organization that took out racist Anaheim Union High School District Trustee Harald Martin, to buy a booth and start going after what should be their next target – the Santa Ana Unified School District board majority.
We found out this week that SAUSD officials have bungled another $3 million dollars, which brings their total losses due to stupid errors to over $6 million for the year. Parents and teachers are already protesting because of crammed classrooms. Why not start the revolution NOW?
I know that Amin David, the Chair of Los Amigos, reads this blog. I have great respect for him. He has the connections to make this happen. Please Amin – get a booth at this fair and let’s go after SAUSD Trustees Rob Richardson, Rosie Avila and Audrey Noji. Our children can’t wait. We need to recall these awful trustees now, or at bare minimum start calling on their immediate resignations.
We also should call on SAUSD Superintendent Jane Russo, who is paid more than most Superintendents, and was hired despite her lack of experience and education, to resign as well.
“Mexico’s Independence Day falls on Sept. 16. On that day in 1810, priest Miguel Hidalgo helped set the country on the course toward independence from Spain with his cry (grito): “Mexicanos, viva Mexico!”
To this I add my own “grito” – “Basta con Rob Richardson! Viva Santa Ana!”
Thanks Art for this post. I too have so much respect for Mr. Amin and the good work done by Los Amigos. And you are correct, we do need his help. There is a leadership void here in Santa Ana and we need the efforts of Mr. Amin…They have accomplished so much in Anaheim but we need help in Santa Ana too. If he does read this blog then I pray dear God that he hear’s our cry for help.
After I finish my graveyard shift at my second job I walk my children to school. I live on the “wrong” side of Bristol street and 17th street but it’s the most rent I can afford. As I see my fellow Latinos walking their kids to school I see the fancy SUV’s and sports cars with white mom’s taking their ninos to fundamental schools or charter schools or private schools outside the barrio. They don’t even look at us…as we walk along. Sometimes they look angry when the crossing guard has to hold traffic for your little children to cross the busy street. Why do they hate us so much? Why don’t they want their little gringitos to sit in the classrooms next to our kids. We are not bad. We take baths each day. What is the problem? We are working hard to make it here in the USA and we are not leaving. So please get to know us. We can be your friends.
I heered that Mr. Richerdson’s kids go to Roosevelt school and Noji’s to Century school. Is that true? I never see them there.
It’s too bad that there is not a parade on Fiesta Patrias through the neighborhoods that don’t normally celebrate this great Mexican holiday. I think more non-mexicans whould come to appreciate our customs if they saw us on this great day. What would it take to get a small parade through these areas? I think we should spread the love and joy we have on this great day of partys and remembering our country’s history. Que Viva Mexico!
I love a good parade and party. Just another example of a healthy city.

Mr. Amin, while you are in it get Pedroza, Mill, Gallegos and Gordon from the SA commission too.
#6-stanley fiala you silly czech.when not beating up women do you always act like an idiot?
In the ghetto….a baby cries…
“I heered that Mr. Richerdson’s kids go to Roosevelt school and Noji’s to Century school. Is that true?”
#3,
Richardson has no children.
Noji sent her kids to school in Irvine.
Rosie did not allow her kids to go to school in the SAUSD.
John Palacio and Sal Tinajero both had their children attending school in the SAUSD.
#2-Now wait a minute here, your comments sound slightly racist to me. There are plenty of mothers of all races and I might add mothers that are also brown skin that drive SUV’s and drop their children off at fundamental schools. Just drive over to Mendez sometime. And no, the gringos don’t hate you and they don’t avoid looking at you…they are looking at the road ahead so they don’t cause an accident. And the gringos DO send their kids to the public schools and they do sit next to your children and they do have some very close friends that just happen to be Hispanic. And your children can go to the fundamental schools just like everyone else, but the parents have to get in the lottery just like everyone else. What the “gringo” parents don’t like, and I might add, other Hispanic parents also don’t like is when the schools are overcrowded with students that DO NOT want to learn, the parents DO NOT get involved, the parents DO NOT value education and leave all responsiblity to the schools. That, my friend makes all of us mad no matter what color you are. Believe me, its not a racist thing. We are all working hard to make it here in America. And no, we gringos do not have a problem with you being here in the USA, just do it legally like everyone else. We are your friends, not a bunch of racist pigs like you make us out to be.

I totally agree that most Hispanics don’t do the extra work at home for their kids’ to excel. But get this… Now that I am an EX SAUSD PARENT why are the white folks still looking at me like I owe them something. I moved to the (949) area, and believe me I participate and volunteer all the time I can. Why then when I went to the PTO meeting, there weren’t as much Caucasian parents as I expected to see, like u mention here and aside from that, when I came into the room the white ladies kept looking at me like if I came from outer space or something. And believe me I am a US Citizen. Can you answer that??? I’ve even heard people from the East say that people in Orange County are the most racist people they’ve encountered, they are more racist than the people in the East and South all together! Ha
EX-SAUSD PARENT
#2- You need to open your eyes, I also work graveyard and when I take my grandson to school, IAM amazed at how many people have SUV’S THE gringos have SUV’S but our peeps have SUV’S with all the trimmings and Im talking about rims, stereos, t.v.’s IPOD’S INSIDE THIER CARS! I have worked in LA county for many years before working in SA. SA has the most racist attitudes I have ever come across in California. In Georgia, you could expect some of the racist attitudes. Truthfully, SA is at least 2 decades behind Los Angeles when it comes to tolerance.
You don’t say what city you are in, but there is plenty of hazing going on by PTA moms out there. Snobbery substituted for community friendly attitudes.

You’re right that is what I got, “snobbery!” LOL I just laugh, thinking how bad they look. FORTUNATELY, Not all of them are like that, . Thank God! But thanks for the insight!!!:)
