Time for a new "grito" in Santa Ana!

Santa Ana is hosting once again the “Fiestas Patrias” street fair this weekend. “Organizers expect some 200,000 people to attend over the course of the two days,” according to the O.C. Register.

What a great opportunity for Los Amigos, the organization that took out racist Anaheim Union High School District Trustee Harald Martin, to buy a booth and start going after what should be their next target – the Santa Ana Unified School District board majority.

We found out this week that SAUSD officials have bungled another $3 million dollars, which brings their total losses due to stupid errors to over $6 million for the year. Parents and teachers are already protesting because of crammed classrooms. Why not start the revolution NOW?

I know that Amin David, the Chair of Los Amigos, reads this blog. I have great respect for him. He has the connections to make this happen. Please Amin – get a booth at this fair and let’s go after SAUSD Trustees Rob Richardson, Rosie Avila and Audrey Noji. Our children can’t wait. We need to recall these awful trustees now, or at bare minimum start calling on their immediate resignations.

We also should call on SAUSD Superintendent Jane Russo, who is paid more than most Superintendents, and was hired despite her lack of experience and education, to resign as well.

“Mexico’s Independence Day falls on Sept. 16. On that day in 1810, priest Miguel Hidalgo helped set the country on the course toward independence from Spain with his cry (grito): “Mexicanos, viva Mexico!”

To this I add my own “grito” – “Basta con Rob Richardson! Viva Santa Ana!”
