Free concert tomorrow at the Huntington Beach Central Library

Vern P. Nelson, a friend of the Orange Juice, is having a concert tomorrow, Sunday, at 6 at the Huntington Beach Central Library, with guest flutist Mary Palchak, who Vern says is great.

The program includes:

Bach – Preludes & Fugues in D and D minor from Well Tempered Clavier
Beethoven – Pastoral Sonata (don’t think I’ve ever performed that before!)
Bach/Brahms – Chaconne in D minor for the left hand
Prokoviev – Sonata for Flute and Piano
Dave Brubeck (my dad’s request) – Blue Rondo a la Turk
Chopin – Etude in E, First Polonaise, and Prelude opus 45 in C# minor
Pink Floyd – Echoes
Vern Nelson – Four Pieces for Flute and Piano (1984)
