Time for Arnold to go "code blue"

The California State Budget battle continues to drag on. I have already written about one gambit Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger could try to break the logjam, which would be for him to try to find candidates to run against the California GOP State Senators who refuse to vote for the budget.

But there remains a nuclear option. Schwarzenegger ought to tell the Reep Senators that they will either agree to approve the budget, by Tuesday of next week, or HE WILL QUIT THE GOP.

That’s right, Schwarzenegger would go to the party of his wife, Maria Shriver, and become a Democrat. Or he could go DTS – decline to state.

And then he could FIRE EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN in his administration.

Do you think the Republicans in the State Senate want to deal with a Democratic Governor? I think not.

And Schwarzenegger would instantly become the favorite to replace Dianne Feinstein if she elects to leave the U.S. Senate at the end of her next term.

Sounds like a plan to me.
