Good stereotyping there, Art. They drink too, so let’s take back all the liquor licenses.
Poster 1,
Don’t take my word for it! Check out this link for more information regarding a UCLA study about Asians and gambling.
Art,
I think this issue is less about “competing” with Disneyland and more about Garden Grove figuring out a way to profit from the big tourist draw that is footsteps away from our city boundaries.
And the people that would entertain the idea of building a casino are interested in repairing the infrastructure…very few of the pro-casino folks get really excited by slot machines & card tables; it’s the tax revenue that gives them hot.
With all that said, there is very little chance that the Governor would be supportive of the tribe and that they would be able to get through all the legal hurdles.
Mike,
I could see that. But opening up this can of worms will cause a lot of social problems. I don’t think it is worth it.
A better solution would be to divvy up Disney tax revenue amongst cities affected by Disney traffic, etc. Anaheim should not get it all!
