I recently signed this blog up with Google Analytics and I must say that the information I have been getting is fantastic. It is far more complete than what we get from Sitemeter.com. However, we have only been using this service since June 25, so I won’t be posting much of it in the interim.
However, one feature that I will make use of right now is the information on content. Here are the current top 10 stories on the Orange Juice! as per Google Analytics:
- SAUSD corruption coming out with Mijares gone
- Alvarez goes off again
- Pulido sticks with Minuteman Lupe Moreno
- Recall Solorio
- Lupe Moreno – in her own words
- Janet Commissioner Watch Day 1
- Something’s rank at Red County/OC Blog
- Get the picket signs ready
- You wanna clean up Santa Ana? Ban Fireworks!
- Hold on to your wallets
We also added a widget for the Alexa blog ranking system, and we signed up for Google Analytics.
We want to know how we are doing – and we want to share all of that information with our readers.
That’s what you promised on June 25, Art.
Who cares what the top 10 stories are?
All these traffic meters tell you how many visitors you get each day. So how many does Google Analytics say you’re getting versus Sitemeter?
I’ll bet it says you have less readers than you thought, and that’s why you’ll never let readers view the Google Analytics info for ourselves.
pedrozabot,
Hey Tim, I already told you that if you want the rest of the data you can meet me at the Memphis on Thursday nights, at 9:30 pm at “Liberally Drinking.” I will bring you a copy of our report.
When we have collected more data, we will make more of it available. I can tell you this however – our universe of unique IPs is already just shy of 1,500. And that reflects only the data collected since June 25.
BTW, why aren’t you asking Matt over at Red County to make his numbers available? We at least make our Sitemeter data available. He does not let his readers know anything about his readership data.
I can tell you this however – our universe of unique IPs is already just shy of 1,500.
We have to take the word of a known liar like you? Not likely. If your going to break your promise, then be honest about it. Otherwise, give readers the same accdewss to your Google numbers as to you Sitememtwer numbers.
What are you afraid of? If the numbers were really that good, you wouldn’t hesitate to let us see them for ourselves.
BTW, why aren’t you asking Matt over at Red County to make his numbers available?
Trying to change the subject again, Art? That’s your favorite trick.
Unlike you, he’s not always bragging about how important his blog is and how many readers he has.
And unlike you, he didn’t promise the share his data with readers. I’m just calling you on your own promise.
Pedrozabot,
And I am calling on you to be a man and meet me at the Memphis.
Of course we all know that you rather hide and snipe.
Bring it on Timmy! Come by the Memphis and you will get your report.
As for the importance of this blog, the fact that we have consistently rated amongst the Top political blogs in California, according to Blognetnews.com, ought to speak for itself.
The current top 10 stories on OJ are kind of a no-brainer, Art. They are the most recent and of course the SAUSD one has a well-worn trail to it. Thanks for providing that community resource about the school system!
NO blog publishes its stats in any kind of detail. Although it might be exciting to view one’s blog thru different filters and analysis, it really is NO ONE ELSE’s business. And certainly not a poster who continually whines and trashes the blog out of jealousy or whatever.
It’s probably just an X of yours, Art, with a mouth full of sour grapes.
Poster 5,
Amen! I could not have said it better myself.
It is somewhat interesting, at least to me, to review the top stories. Some of them are recent, others less so.
I wonder sometimes what makes one story take off while another dies on the vine.
One thing worth noting is that the current crop of Top 10 stories include posts by Claudio Gallegos, Sean Mill and Ryan Trabuco. Way to go guys!
I should note that some of our BEST work is contributed by Larry Gilbert. His posts don’t always make it to the Top rankings, but they are quite interesting and well-researched.
Let’s face it – sometimes readers are more in the mood for entertainment than hard news and analysis.
In my own posts I try to walk that fine line…edutainment if you will.
Once again Tim ” Testicular Fortitude” Whitacre is posting anonymously as Petrozabot.
When Whitacre was one of OJ’s independent contributors he consistently trashed bloggers who participated on this site. He even attempted to enlist others to bring down the OJ.
Looks like crybaby Whitacre is in full meltdown mode. Is it the weather or are there no more hills for the former Marine/Testicular Fortitude Whitacre to take?
This blog is very effective. So effective, in fact, that SAUSD has blocked all access to this blog through their firewall. We are not given access to it on our own time – such as before the instructional day begins, nutrition/recess, lunch, and after the instructional day ends. I wonder what they are so afraid of?
Also, isn’t this unnecessary censorship?

And isn’t asking teachers to falsify attendance records against the law?
Illegal acts by legal personnel.
Poster 8,
I have also heard that our blog is blocked at the Santa Ana Public Library. Outrageous! I will be asking the ACLU to look into both situations.
10 -Thanks Art. I’m going to check on Monday and see if some of the other blogs are blocked by SAUSD. I’ll let you know the outcome.
