Aren’t most of the “victims” of gang shootings gang members or family and associates of Gang members? Why not light a few candles for the good people of S.A. who are stuck in thier homes and living in fear because of these knuckleheads! You are wasting your time doing the rest of this nonsense.
If everyone in Santa Ana armed themselves with candles instead of guns, perhaps we would be better off ?
All the candlelight vigils and all the gang/youth commissions will never cure what ails SanTana….it’s a giant waste of time and money. The problem will go away when people who have no business or resources to have and care for children practice the use of contraception.
When these people quit having kids they can’t afford (most of whom fill the ranks of local gangs) their living conditions will improve, our inner cities won’t be teeming with unemployable, uneducated miscreants, and those few good kids that remain will have a good shot at a decent life.
Having children is a lifestyle choice. It’s not an inalieable right. If you can’t afford to raise kids, KEEP YOUR LEGS CLOSED! That’s an idea that should cut across racial/class lines.
Wise words from #3! guns don’t join gangs, these little good for nothing kids do!
Organized by Chicanos United? Talk about the blind leading the blind! Hopefully everyone got a free T-shirt and got horse yelling Si Se Puede! What a great way to spend an evening! Paying tribute to criminals. And they wonder why they can’t get ahead in life!
While I respect the right of those who chose to be at the vigil, I fail to see what it actually accomplishes. Frankly if the residents who live in gang infested neighborhoods armed themselves with guns rather than candles they would accomplish far more. Think about this for a moment, two words that are always associated are “unarmed victim” and the outcome is never good. While I understand that many will find this repulsive, you have to wait for the PD to respond, they take time, precious time, to get to where the bad guys are. Unless you want to live in a police state…
#3’s glass will always be half- empty, while Council Member Martinez’s will always be half- full.
A wise woman once said, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you will be criticized anyway.”
Keep up the good work Council Member Martinez. More and more residents are becoming believers in your brand of leading.
