Ryan Williams, the OC GOP candidate for the 69th Assembly District, sent out a mailer this week holding his Democrat opponent, Jose Solorio, accountable for some of his bad decisions while on the Santa Ana City Council (see mailer below).
Solorio sent out a mailer a few weeks ago that talked about his “Campaign to Teach English.” How can you correlate that with his actions as part of a City Council that has defunded the library system in Santa Ana so much that we are down to one branch and even the bookmobiles have been cancelled? He even sent out potholders during his primary campaign emblazoned with the same “Learn English” slogan. Hey Jose – how are your constituents supposed to learn English when you keep closing down the libraries? Are they supposed to use the potholders and just stay in the kitchen?
Solorio also embraced eminent domain as a council member – giving away valuable land next to the 55 freeway to a rich Republican automobile dealer who is a member of the Lincoln Club – an organization that funds Republican candidates. Nice – if the guy wanted the land so badly I KNOW he could have afforded it.
On Nov. 7 vote for Williams and tell Solorio you won’t be rewarding him for his dismal service to the City of Santa Ana!
Nice hat but it hides your hair gel waves!
Jose Solorio still has Law Enforcement backing. Jose has treated Police and Fire very well. So go ahead and knock him but he has all your candidates beat by a long shot on that one. At least Jose will up to the Gov. on issues instead of kissing up to him!
Hard hitting! Ryan will win for sure now!!!!!!
Karen,
I can’t see Solorio standing up to Schwarzenegger – he won’t even get the time of day from our Governor. Vote for Ryan and at least I can assure you that we will have a representative who can work with our Governor. Not so with Solorio. Then again, if you send Solorio to Sacramento at least we can replace him with someone who will actually do something for our city, not just the unions and special interests.
With Ryan’s enhanced name ID lets give this guy a shot at the Lou’s current seat.
Run Ryan run
But who has better hair? Come on!
I can give you one good reason to vote for Ryan Gene. Fabian Nunez backs Solorio. The same Fabian Nunez who helped the L.A. Mayor bamboozle and swindle the voters out of the chance to vote for their own school board. The same Fabian Nunez who stood up with John Kerry last week at Pasadena City College (i.e., “With an education you will go far; without one you’ll end up in Iraq”). And did I mention that this is the same Fabian Nunez who is looking to consolidate his position as Speaker of the Assembly and is relying on Solorio to vote him in over Peralta?
A vote for Solorio is more than a vote for Solorio. It’s a vote for getting taxed up the gizmo, and allowing the special interests to run rampant.
At least Ryan Gene has clean money, ethics and is well connected politically.
Actually Karen,
Police and Fire have been treated poorly under Solorio.
They have less field officers making it much more dangerous not only for the residents, but for the officers as well.
The Police and Fire have been looking for more money and a better PERS deal, but have been turned down by Pulido and Solorio.
In fact,
The big chunk of cash recently handed to Chris Townsend was hush money to keep the Unions from attacking Solorio.
So Pulido used taxpayer money to push his political agenda.
reep what you sow,
I don’t understand your point about Speaker Nunez needing Solorio’s vote to beat Peralta? Who is this Peralta you reference?
If you’re talking about Don Perata, you’re very confused. Perata is the leader in the State SENATE. The State ASSEMBLY, while also in the legislative branch, is the other half of the bicameral legislature.
Try taking Intro to California Politics before trying to post about stuff you clearly don’t understand.
Ryan.
We already have 10 candidates on our Mission Viejo ballot for three seats. Do you want me to add your name as a write-in?
Good luck tomorrow!
Larry Gilbert
Thanks, Larry!
Write-in someone else’s name for Mission Viejo.
It’s a great town, but I live nowhere near there or know enough about anything that goes on down there… other than the mayor was caught messing with signs and the Best Buy at the Y interchange.
I frequent that one if the Best Buy at the block doesn’t have what I want.
I’ll see you at the Irvine Hyatt tomorrow!
Lates.
Art,
I would like to know what makes your groups not special interest?.
Like for instant real estate companies, insurance companies, gas companies, etc, etc.
I could go on and on but I will leave it at that. I remember Arnold saying NO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS!
Well he really blew that one huh? So please do not turn this one around and say Unions are the only special interest, Hun they are THE ONLY REAL PEOPLE!
God Bless,
Karen A Finn
Police Officers Wife
Anonymous,
Hmm, are you married to an Officer?
Have you tried to apply to the SAPOA and PASS the TEST required to become an Officer?
Have you seen the package they get with the city and match with the State? Have you interviewed an officer with the SAPOA? Have you not seen the Republican Party not take money from Townsend?
Now if you want to tell me your REAL NAME after talking to you for almost a year, and if you want to do all the above then BRAVO we can have a conversation!
Until then I know a whole lot more than you do on this subject!
