I know I said I would not add any more Santa Ana bloggers, but with two of our Santa Ana bloggers off the team in recent weeks – one of his own volition – and Claudio Gallegos on a recess as he celebrates the birth of his new baby, I needed some help – and I found a very capable new blogger to help me cover the Orange County seat. Please welcome Sean Mill – who has already hit the ground running, so to speak, with a rousing piece on Santa Ana School board member Rosie Avila.
Mill is a lifelong resident of Santa Ana, and he works as a data specialist for a title insurance company. He tells me that he is a “proud progressive Democrat.” Mill is a 1990 graduate of UC Irvine, with a B.A. in Political Science (that will come in handy here at the Orange Juice). He is also a former Chairman of the Santa Ana Parks and Recreation Commission, and a former Vice-Chairman of the Santa Ana Uniform Code Appeals Board. He also has run twice for the Santa Ana City Council, in 1992 and 1994.
Mill is also a diehard USC Trojan and Tony Stewart fan. I didn’t know that! I did know however that he is a political junkie who has been involved in local politics since 1984.
I am excited about adding Mill to our team and I know that he will contribute regularly. I look forward to reading his exposes of the ongoing political abuses in Santa Ana. Go get em’ Sean!
Congratulations to O.J. and Sean! I’ve known Sean for many years and he is a good choice for your team. Sean loves politics but he always puts people and their needs at the top of his priority list. Sean has been writting letters to the editor for many years and I don’t think you will have to beg him to get his weekly article as Sean is rarely at a loss for words. Sean and I have not always agreed on all issues over the years but I’ve come to respect him and find I agree with him more often than I don’t these days. Best wishes Sean!
