I agree…Evangeline may sneak in…not because of anything she has done but because all other candidates are taking the Gringo vote for granted and assuming an Anglo can’t win. Don’t be so sure.
It will be close but I believe Thomas Gordon will be our next Mayor. I’d be interested to know what he would do in his first 30 days as Mayor. It’s going to be very close but Mayor Gordon will soon be in office.
Even if Evangeline can’t win she will do better than many expect.In Santa Ana many Anglos vote for Latinos and Latinos for Anglos so I don’t think the vote by race stuff makes much sense when looking at results. And don’t forget the Viet. vote which also is tough to predict.

What Santa Ana (and the other cities need), is a gross receipts tax on campaign donations similar to the tax on insurance premiums.
A 20% rate would bring in 50k to fill up alot of those Santa Ana potholes.
