It’s amazing how much free ink OCTA is getting from the beat reporters at the Register. After yesterdays four pages we find another “free” full page featured story.
Having posted numerous times today I will be brief. Using OCTA’s data, they report “on an average day, 178,000 vehicles cross the county line on the 5 going north or south.” While you count the number of existing lanes let me point out that “we are told that ridership on Metrolink is the equivalent of one lane of traffic.” Let’s analyze their data. As I reported earlier their a.m. peak Orange County ridership in June was 2,136. Without having the total daily Metrolink ridership I can still make the case that we are being misled. If there are five lanes in each direction today, and we divide 178,000 by five, we get 35,600. If 2,136 is the “peak” ridership, there is no way to substantiate said usage being equivalent to one lane of freeway traffic.

Cuomo is running as an independent! https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/14/nyregion/andrew-cuomo-mamdani-nyc-mayor.html Cuomo is a slimeball, both for this and for everything. But I think…
Wow, Larry. I had no idea that you knew so much about Measure M.
