Jack Wu (pictured at right with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger), a Republican candidate for the Newport Beach City Council, says that his opponent, Michael F. Henn, is a bogus Republican. And he might be right.
Wu mailed out a letter outlining the issue and asking for GOP support. Included was a copy of Henn’s voter registration from 2004, showing him as an independent. However, in March of this year he registered as a Republican. Hmmm… methinks he is a RINO.
I don’t know much about Wu. His letter says that he is an alternate on the OC GOP Central Committee, to Tom Fuentes of all people. And he is Assemblyman Chuck “I love Hemp” DeVore’s appointee to the California Republican Party Central Committee.
Wu is endorsed by a Who’s Who of GOP leaders in the OC, including Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, DeVore, Assemblyman Van Tran, Fuentes, Anna Bryson (uh oh! don’t tell Gila!), Tim Whitacre, Kermit Marsh, Christina Shea, etc.
Speaking of RINO’s, Isn’t 2004 also about the time Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamonte became a Republican as well?
Carlos Bustamante is a RINO mole. His actions prove it. First, he refuses to endorse two Republican candidates and doesn’t give a reason why. The candidates ask for his help and with one of them he says he has to check with a Democrat before he endorses. Then he blows off Scott Baugh, who asked him to endorse the two candidates. Finally he endorses after arm twisting.
It’s no secret that the Democrats want to take Republican held seats in OC, long a bastian of conservatives. Bustamonte gives aid and comfort to the enemy, which is tantamout to treason.
But if Bustamonte were really a Republican, then he would have already clued in to the concept of playing on the same team, which he has not.
Carlos Bustamonte is not honest with himself nor can he be honest with us about his actions. Just ask him what took him so long to endorse Ryan Gene Williams. He’ll squirm for a little bit and then refer you to someone else. A Democrat.
Speaking again of RINO’s. Why is Jack Wu snuggling up to Arnold and touting his opponents Independant leanings? Isnt Arnold taking a hard turn to the left to pander to pepole sick of Hard Core Right Wing Politics?

Kermit Marsh isn’t a leader he’s a lap dog for Scott Baugh – Arf! Arf!
When exactly did Bustamante “become” a Republican?
I think the only reason he got elected is because the Mexican voters confused his name with Cruz
Bustamante. I bet he won’t do so good next time around.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black..Jack Wu was a former Democrat as well…
Yeah, but at least Jack Wu has pitched in and been involved with OCGOP matters from day one.
Besides, it is a natural progression for Democrats as they mature. However, some remain retarded in their growth as new Republicans due to their own selfish ambitions. And, some Republicans are just plain retarded. Bustamante appears to be suffering from a little of both.
Will the Democrat Party of Orange County come pick up their child at the lost and found, please?
Now, hold on there!
Anon 12:45, you can keep Carlos!
In 2004, Carlos Bustamante cozied up to the OC Labor Council and convinced them that he was “for workers’ rights”.
Yeah, right!
In a recent SA City Council meeting, he voted against amending the municipal code regarding superstores… Basically, he’s now in the pocket of Wal-Mart! Yeah, Bustamante’s really “for workers’ rights”!
In many ways, Bustamante is like that other True Liar… Ahhnold! They both speak out of both sides of their mouths and tell everyone what they want to hear. Now we may not agree on much, Anon 12:45, but we can agree on this… Neither side is very happy with Carlos right now.
Now perhaps Bustamante and Arnold will find a warm welcome in the Connecticut for Lieberman Party!
Pot and kettle is correct. See http://www.smartvoter.org/1998nov/ca/or/vote/wu_j/ and http://www.smartvoter.org/2002/11/05/ca/or/vote/wu_j/ endorsed by the Orange County Democrat Party both times. I guess Jack beat Mike in registering by a little while, so he is entitled to criticize Mike. At least Mike was Independent which is politically closer to Republican than Jack was as a Democrat. Jack has since been brought into the party to reach out to ethnic voters, do you think he knows he is being used or is he the user?
“In a recent SA City Council meeting, he voted against amending the municipal code regarding superstores… Basically, he’s now in the pocket of Wal-Mart! Yeah, Bustamante’s really “for workers’ rights”!”
So in other words, all those slaves over at Wal-Mart that never finished high school should be making 100 grand a year, or Carlos and Gang should run Wal-Mart out of town and lose the millions that Wal-Mart puts into the city coffers?
