Quang Pham joins the Orange Juice blog team!
Noted OC author Quang X. Pham, an independent with moderate Republican leanings, has joined the blog team here at the Orange Juice – and I know he is going to bring a lot to the table.
Pham’s life story is quite a read – here is part of his bio from his website, “Quang X. Pham is an author, entrepreneur, Marine Gulf War veteran, frequent contributor to several newspapers, and a nationally-known speaker and lecturer. His memoir, A Sense of Duty: My Father, My American Journey, was published by Ballantine in 2005, and has become a classic among tales of immigrants finding their way and their place in America, and in modern Marine memoirs.”
Pham is also launching his own blog page, called “War, Immigration and The O.C.” Given the mess in the Middle East, I am sure it will be fascinating in its own right. Pham tells me he has plenty to write about here at the Orange Juice blog as well, and I urge you all to welcome him and his unique insight.
Welcome to the OC fray.
welcome to the blogpen!
i can’t wait to read/comment on your posts.
welcome aboard Mr. Pham.
Welcome, Quang Pham!
Guys, I think we have to ask Bladerunner. Who cares if he (or she!) insists on being anonymous. Let’s go for it — Bladerunner would be an OUTSTANDING addition, worth making an exception for.
What’s the quote? “Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds?” Something like that.
PS: Quang, as a fellow south countian I look forward to hearing your take on issues in our area. Santa Ana is important, of course, but it’s not the only place in the county.
Pham Pham Pham…This is where the crazies post. Don’t become associated with them. Flee young man Flee. By the way, Semper Fi.
Gila,
Sorry, those are the rules to be a blogger, you have to post under your real name. But I have an idea over getting “Bladerunner” his own blog. I still have the domain for a blog I had in the summer/fall of 2003 called The Real OC. I have thought about handing it over to a group of people who want to blog anonymously on Liberal issues, a complete opposite of The OC Blog.
By the way, Welcome aboard Quang, Orange Juice is about to become a lot more interesting.
Congrats to Orange Juice’s increasing prominence!
Ditto on looking forward to Mr. Pham’s posts.
Gila thank you for the kind thought but Claudio is right–rules are rules.
Claudio, thanks for the domain thought but I don’t have the time to do my own blog right now. You & Art and the Gang are doing just fine and between your site and the OC Blog I’m content to add my two cents on occasion.
Props to you and Art for the diversity.
Quang,
I really wonder why nice guy like you want to post at this forum.
Thanks to all for your warm welcome, especially to Art and Claudio for this blogging opportunity. You are now over your Marine quota! As a newbie, I’ve learned much about OC politics via the O-Juice and the OC Blog over the past six months.
Gila–your comment about So. County triggered my memory of serving as a traffic & transportation commissioner for M. Viejo (appointed by then-Mayor B. Craycraft) and coaching the Dana Hills HS Girls JV Basketball Team in 1997. Coaching was a blast! Speed bumps and stop signs
Quang, you have stated: “Crazies are everywhere? Who said I was a nice guy?”
I can absolutely support your statement because you have proper national colors behind you and that is why your speech is valuable to me whether it is offensive, profane or racist.
You have unalienable right to it!
Moreover, by your service you have reaffirmed that my unalienable rights are intact, I commend you for it.
However, there are too many who have wrong colors behind them who want to separate me from my rights and I can’t expect you to keep fighting for my rights forever.
Wow write a crummy book and they let you blog. Only in America.
Anon 9:41 a.m. – Wow, scribble a crummy note and they let you post it…only in America. I’ll give you a refund if you mail me your copy of my crummy book. How’s that? Too bad your IP address isn’t afraid of its identity…
You sound like Jubal. So much for freedom of speech.Maybe Art’s free speech blog takes a hit if you can’t stand the heat.
