Norby under fire from the left…and the right

Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby is having a rought time of late. The solid conservative was taken to task by OC Register columnist Steven Greenhut recently after he endorsed RINO Lynn Daucher and her comrade in arms Marty Siminoff for their respective legislative races. I agree with Greenhut – Norby undermined his reputation when he backed these two, as they favor the type of eminent domain abuses that Norby has always opposed.

Now Norby is facing a union-backed liberal, La Habra Council Member Rose Espinoza, and while she is having a tough time raising money, that isn’t stopping her from going on the attack. Today’s Times reports that Espinoza is slamming Norby for his stance on redevelopment (he didn’t help her to bring a new Costco to La Habra); failing to fix a park that was built over a landfill; and fighting bilingual ballots.

I thought that Espinoza was going to get a lot of money from the OC public employee’s union, but they seem to be fixated on stopping OC Treasurer John Moorlach’s effort to join Norby on the Board of Supervisors. The demographics in Norby’s district have shifted over the last five years in favor of Espinoza, but I expect Norby to defeat her. I hope however that he will stop endorsing liberal Republicans. That is no way to thank his supporters!
