Baugh fires voter registration contractors

O.C. GOP Chairman Scott Baugh responded today to the growing media and public pressure regarding the voter registration scandal in the 34th State Senate District by announcing that he is bringing all such activities in-house, according to the O.C. Register.

Baugh claims that the contractor in question was planning to phase such work out and that the party was planning on doing this for some time. That sounds a little bit disingenuous, but I will give Baugh the benefit of the doubt. He deserves some credit for finally putting this fire out.

O.C. GOP activist Tim Whitacre has been calling on Baugh to do this for some time, and now local GOP volunteers and support organizations will benefit from the voter registration bounties, which will amount between $6 and $13 each.
