Michele Martinez A CHANGE WE BELIEVE IN
I’m still waiting for someone to convince me that Michele is different from Pulido. There have been so many unfounded allegations thrown at her, so why isn’t anyone talking about what she’ll do if she gets elected? Why isn’t anyone talking about how the Clowncil seats up for grabs might alter Michele’s power base (or Pulido’s for that matter) should she win election? Just for starters, I know Michele will have a friend in Lisann Martinez should she dethrone ‘crazy Claudia’ in ward 5. Ok, what else?
I’ve talked to a few people and I think the answer to Michele’s ‘gang question’ is that she’s no longer involved, but as I’ve said before, the allegations are not completely with merit as she’s admitted to her past affiliations and been doing questionable things with her hands in photographs, which I am told by sources, are likely not gang signs after all.
So for now, I propose a moratorium on discussing Michele’s checkered past until she proves that she hasn’t earned her redemption.
But seriously, what change can we expect from her? Belief should have nothing to do with campaigning.
SMS
Out of all that’s been written about Ms. Martinez I can’t recall anything regarding policy or any type of forecast of what she’d do as mayor. Having said that, backcasting, she’s not been too terribly different than the current mayor. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Geez. I wouldn’t pay a single dollar to support her circus campaign. She is inept at her current position and even lacks a platform for her mayoral campaign. Her website alludes to Senator Obama’s campaign with the slogan “Yes We Can!” and her political message lacks any substance. All that she hopes to accomplish as mayor are
1)I respectfully ask for your support and guidance to become Santa Ana’s next Mayor.
2)I want to be the voice, hope, and inspiration for all the residents that have been left behind.
She wants to be the “voice, hope, and inspiration” for the residents of Santa Ana? Give me a break. A trained monkey with cymbals would make a better role model than this ex-gangbanger Loretta Sanchez wannabe.
#4,
Why would a Pulido supporter donate to Michelle’s campaign in the first place.
You are right about the past beign in the past.
If you want to learn more about her platform particulars attend one of her fund raisers and discuss it directly with her. You can also call her then let us all know what you found out.
The circus is actually at camp Team Pulido. You are one of it’s performers.
Do you disagree with advocating for voters to participate in their government?
Do you disagree advocating for representation of all the city’s residents?
If a trained monkey could do a better job. Then apply. You already belong to a circus.

1) I’m not a Pulido supporter
2) The past may be in the past but in politics it plays a huge part. In her case, she used to belong to the biggest and most violent gang in Santa Ana. Doesn’t that speak volumes? She once tried to hold a moment of silence for a slain gangmember during a council meeting. Who does that!?
3)I am not interested in paying a hundred dollars just to find out what her platform is. It is her responsibility as a civil servant to provide that information for free.
4)As I mentioned before, I am not a Pulido supporter. You’re assuming. You know how the saying goes…but mostly, you’re making an ass out of yourself.
5) I live in a representative democracy. Do you know what that means? We elect our representatives…why wouldn’t I believe in voters participating in government?
6) I am not interested in the city council. Change is better found at the community level.
#6,
You sound like a Pulido Supporter. You were only critical of Michele.
The past in this case is an experience in her early teens. Should we be critical of every politician’s experiences as teenagers?
You do not take into consideration her family background and other challenges as a child. These factors are real and relative in discrepensities during the process of life.
She was involved with a female group within the neighborhod gang culture all children within certain neighborhoods are exposed to. She was not involved with a group as you describe it.
The person you refer to she suggested a moment of silence be held for was a Santa Ana High school student athelete. He was on the school’s wrestling team.
The purpose was to place attention to the violence and call for solutions so other city residents could avoid death.
Do you have issues with saving lives? Maybe you only care for the saving of lives that have no ties to gang influence. A shame as we are all human.
Attending a fund raiser does not require you to donate money. You can attend only for the information available to you.
My only assumtion in our discussion was about who you support.
You assume anyone with a questionable past, that is in the past, is human waste not worthy of a second chance or to have an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society, because according to you, politics will not permit it. Who is the ASS in their reasoning?
If you beleive in voters participating in government why did you belittle Michele’s writting of it?
Look, your arguments are illogical. The are based mostly on assumptions an red herrings. As for me, I grew up in the middle of F-Troop territory. Friends of mine have died or became deeply involved in drugs. One of my cousins is in jail for 2nd degree murder. Therefore I don’t sympathize with Martinez. This is the reality of Santa Ana.
She hasn’t shown anything worthwhile as a member of the city council. Why should I think she will make real changes as mayor?
As for campaign, she is asking for $99.00 to attend her event. I’m not going to shell out that much just to hear her go around my questions.
Do you want to know how badly Santa Ana needs help? Look around you…better yet view this documentary on our beloved city.

#8,
Your statement that my arguments are illogical, red herrings and assumptions is a poor excuse not to address my comments.
She is not seeking your sympathy. Where did you get that idea.
It looks like you also had ties to gangs. Should employers and community groups see you in a negative manner and give you their back as you wish for Michele?
Michele has not lead the city for 12 years. She has a minority position on the council. If not much has happened on the council it is because of the majority control.
You do not know she will go around your questions. Again, you are not required to donate if you attend the fund raiser. If the fund raiser is a mental block for you then call her. If she goes around your questions let us know.
No one disagrees with you about the sad state of Santa Ana. The current Mayor is responsible for that. He has had the opportunity to have the city resemble neighbors like Anaheim.
You can not blame Michele for this. Your observation of the poor state of the city is why change in leadership is necessary and it is why Michele has decided to step up to the plate.
At the end you have the right to vote your mind for whatever reasons you have. This country is beutiful for this reason.
