They’re like opinions — everybody’s got one. (From Kurt Vonnegut’s “Breakfast of Champions.”)
If you’re not a bluenose, this is an extremely interesting interview on “bad words,” some prevalent ones of which are younger than Nancy Reagan.

About Admin
"Admin" is just editors Vern Nelson, Greg Diamond, or Ryan Cantor sharing something that they mostly didn't write themselves, but think you should see. Before December 2010, "Admin" may have been former blog owner Art Pedroza.
“The obtuseness is important because it has to be culpable. The asshole is somebody who ought to know better … it’s important to realize that while there are people who are consecrated, chronic assholes—like Donald Trump, for example, or Gen. Patton ..”
Who are your favorite loveable assholes?
Was it Tony Robbins who said “Love you, love myself” ?
Stop fishing for compliments.

Thanks Skally !
You’ve defined what that asterisk denotes at the beginning of all the Winships’ comments.
How rude of them.
Or maybe this can morph into an Orange Juice Blog rating system….
I’ll give that comment 3 assholes outta 5 ! ***
Diamond’s in the lead with 5.
Oh, man…. Never made THAT connection before. I wonder if I’ll ever be able to un-make it!
OK,

you made me laugh.
*Kurt was our favorite writer of the 20th Century. “Piano Player” was one of his first and most prophetic writings. Wonderful beyond words. “Sirens of Titan” really put him on the map and we still think that we one day will go to war with Mars……if we can just find the right out of work Used Car Salesman to get the movement started.
“A-Holes”, “Butt-Cheek Peeks”, Plumber’s Butt, – the list is as long as your……arm?.
And these were the days…..before tatoos were popular…..well, except for old Navy guys….and Marines…..”USN – Never Again!” on his arm, after his fifth tour in Far East. or “I wish I was in Dixie – but she doesn’t like me anymore!” on the Marine’s chest.
Icons are so funny and long lasting…eh?
****Demo is such a joker……come on now…….looking at symbols and such…really!
Skally is responsible for the original concept.
I just piled on.
No, you connected the dots. Or, in this case, asterisks.

First use of the asterisk to denote assholes, goes to Skally.
I wish I would have thought of it, it’s pretty funny.
Well, personally, I’d credit Vonnegut.
I mean, Assterisk.
*Being creative is an important part of contributing to society. We love creative folks…even if they can never laugh at themselves!
