And how are they going to do it?
There are a lot of things wrong in Fullerton and a lot of issues at stake in this race. But one looms over them all.
What are we going to do about our assault-happy cops?
The Kelly Thomas murder was just the culmination of an escalating pattern of brutality and sadistic violence committed by our city enforcers of the law. This is not exaggeration or casting aspersion as has been documented on this blog with precision and accuracy. These are not all official facts ; they are all well-documented facts.

Years back a minor batch of Female Harrassment came out of the Newport Beach Police Dept. Arb Campbell was the Chief then, along with his two top Lt.’s Arb was in a heap of trouble. Arb resigned under heavy pressure, several lawsuits and too many eye witness folks to the goings on…..that it was impossible to defense. The City wound up paying some pretty big pay checks to some very straight Dispatchers, Female Officers and with the replacement of the Chief….with a very squeaky clean replacement….things have gone pretty good…until, when Bob’s replacement got attacked for holding some folks back for raises and upgrades……we now have another very squeaky clean Chief…..and hopefully all will go well….from here on out.
Fullerton had Chief Mike, who got sick and now has retired. His replacement has come from within the ranks, which would be just dandy had there not be a cloud over the Department and the many things the Dept. is facing between now and when the lawsuits, the Criminal proceedings and the Recall Effort of three City Councilfolks.
The right thing to do, is what Newport Beach PD did, each time it faced an advisarial
environment…..they went out of the system to recruit the best possible candidate Chief that was available in the, County, State or the entire Country, for that matter. Right now, that function may have to stay on hold until after the Recall Effort is resolved and there is a steady bunch…..securely seated on the Fullerton City Council.
We strongly advise Prime Minister Bushala and the rest of the grand poobahs beating their chest in Fullertonia……to settle down and just do it right – to start!
With all due respect Tony, financing a recall and campaign yourself pretty much negates any opinion you can voice about the city. You have lost all my respect. This is not about a better city, it seems to be about what best services you.
WELL then, you don’t REALLY mean “with all due respect” then, do ya? Just sayin’, hombre.
I love reading the phrase “with all due respect” in legal opinions. It often means “with no respect, because none is due.”
That said, I don’t follow Jon’s reasoning. Its implication is that Bushala should not have funded a recall, despite believing that it was appropriate, unless he could find co-investors. With all due respect — ha-ha, no, I really mean it this time — that doesn’t make sense to me.
I have lost all your respect? Oh no! Whatever shall I do?
You have lost my respect too!
As a good citizen you should follow Jesus’ provision: “You hit me with stone and I hit you with bread.”
Instead of financing the hate against the good citizens you should donate all that money to the Fullerton Police Department to finance the officers’ entertainment slush fund.
