Crap & Raid

Are cow farts destroying the environment?

“Numbering nearly 1,000 pages after eight months of negotiating, the “discussion draft” of the American Power Act was dropped into an election-year atmosphere in which Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.)”  New York Times

Telling Americans that if they pay another 20% a year for gas and home electricity, Commercial Property and of course the cost of everything we buy…will produce a clean environment….(if of course, the entire world follows suit)…is closer to praying for “Blue Skies” than having them.

Raising food cost production for American Farmers is probably just another desire to import more low cost inferior AG products from foreign countries.  And of course, to drive small American Farms out of business.  Raising their annual expenses by 10 percent over-all….will not lower the prices to American consumers by any degree.  The good news – The Kerry Bill will not regulate the “Cow Flatulence Factor” initially -for a few years.

Based on the concept of the Chicago Climate Exchange, which was established in 1990 – http://www.chicagoclimatex.com/  the idea is simply to create another wonderful Bernie Madoff Hedge Funds and Closed Derivative Markets.  Think how the folks at Goldman-Sachs are rubbing their hands together, figuring out ways to bet against it, or bet for it – when they know that neither India or China are buying into any of it.  How about those Russians too?  How about the Eastern Block Polluted Countries?

Oh, they call it “Off-sets” instead of “Synthethic Credit Default Swaps”….but it’s all the same stuff.  When the cost of Gas and Oil doubles and we will get seasonal spikes that will curl your hair.  But hey, as long as “Market Forces are working”…how bad can it be?  Pretty bad if you are on fixed income.  Pretty bad if you are trying to dig yourself out of personal debt.

The 987 Page Kerry-Leiberman Bill is loaded with all sorts of wonderful exceptions.  Kind of reminds you of  our standard IRS Regulations. Guess we should all refer to Apendix “A”!  As our businesses are encouraged to move “off-shore”….to save money, this Crap and Raid Bill….needs to be “Dismissed with Extrme Prejudice!  Unless they can make that bill – an International Agreement, both enforceable with punitive damages and denial of all importation of goods – forget it.  We do not need to fight the great World Environmental battle – either alone or with one hand tied behind us.

Wonder if BP will be lowerly their costs to consumers for the next 10 years, because  of their foul-up?  Maybe we should just return to the good old days of Smoot- Hawley: http://future.state.gov/when/timeline/1921_timeline/smoot_tariff.html

Saying no to Crap & Raid is easy…..having both parties get the idea that people want to see “Dirty Companies” – clean up their own messes”….would be most preferable to any other taxing idea!  If Dupont and Monsanto needs to raise their prices – that’s no problem….just don’t get into the Energy Business!  Making the State Public Utilites Commissions in charge of regulating pollution credits and how much to consumers pay….is a total “conflict of interest”.  Sorry Senators  Kerry & Leiberman…..no more Derivatives please!  We have been to that party!
