Another Koreatown fundraiser?? It was bad enough when Sukhee Kang did it last year.
Who says Choi is the front runner?
Greg,
Think about it. Choi beat Larry Agran. And he hails from Irvine, the biggest city in the district. Jerry Amante is unknown outside of Tustin, which is a small town. Don Wagner is just unknown, period.
This is Choi’s seat. No question about it.
Sorry but Dr. Choi, who I know and like, has no business running for this seat. He’s only doing so because he is putting Race above his Party. Choi is a natural to challenge the current Democrat incumbent Mayor propped by Agran. However, Because Kang is also a fellow Korean, he and Choi have made a pact to go after the same money and not oppose each other.
Dr. Choi also does not live in the district he is running for and that makes him a carpetbagger just like when he was going to run in the other Assembly race last year or so. My respect for Dr. Choi is fast diminishing as I find playing the Race card for any reason disturbing.
In my opinion, the previous commenter is either a phony trying to stoke racial resentment. Steven Choi lives in Irvine, part of the 70th District. The previous commenter tries to make an issue out of Choi’s ethnicity, saying that Kang (a Dem and also Korean) and Choi (a conservative Repubican) have some kind of Korean pact. This is absolutely absurd. As for holding a fundraiser in Koreatown, does someone have a problem with Koreans? Steven Choi has received overwhelming support from people of every ethnicity. It is clear that the previous comment is pretending to be a friend of Choi’s, so that his forthcoming smear against Choi will seem all the more credible. Whoever the administrator is here needs to do a better job of monitoring these comment sections for libelous, groundless smears. It is perfectly transparent that these comments are meant to smear particular Republicans running for office. It appears that some bitter, little person (with bad punctuation, I must add) has too much time on their hands.
