Another Milestone reached at the Orange Juice

Big Orange Juice Milestone

As the information age continues to explode it has been our pleasure to be part of the next generation of news sources with our Orange Juice posts and responses to your comments.

Thanks to each of you, readers and writers alike, for turning Art’s dream into a reality.

Art Pedroza founded the Orange Juice blog in July of 2003 when blogs were a new concept [beginning in 1998].

Today represents a new milestone for Art. The Orange juice blog has just posted its 6,000th article. Note:  I have saved #6,000 for Art. This is post #5,999.

There have been several Juice writers, past and present, whose challenge was and continues to provide stories and commentary on a wide spectrum of topics.

For those who are regular readers of this blog there is one fact that cannot be denied.

We come from all walks of life and political ideologies as evidenced by our unique selection of topics and style. On occasion we even add comments to each others posts if we feel it to be warranted.

As of Dec 2007 there were over 100 million blogs around the globe including those cybernauts working underground in far off places like mainland China. Today you can use any smart phone and connect to the Internet to access blog websites.

For those unfamiliar with this news medium here’s some background data:

The Blogosphere The collective community of all blogs is known as the blogosphere. Since all blogs are on the internet by definition, they may be seen as interconnected and socially networked, through blogrolls, comments, linkbacks (refbacks, trackbacks or pingbacks) and backlinks. Discussions “in the blogosphere” are occasionally used by the media as a gauge of public opinion on various issues. Because new, untapped communities of bloggers can emerge in the space of a few years, Internet marketers pay close attention to “trends in the blogosphere”

Many mainstream journalists, meanwhile, write their own blogs — well over 300, according to CyberJournalist.net’s J-blog list. The first known use of a blog on a news site was in August 1998, when Jonathan Dube of The Charlotte Observer published one chronicling Hurricane Bonnie.

On behalf of the entire Juice family let us again thank you for partnering with us over the past six years. As they say in air travel you do have other choices to get your daily dose of news. Thanks for including us in your Internet travels.
