CSUF-I: Another Great Park FAIL

Cal State Fullerton -Irvine Campus had been one of the few projects at El Toro MCAS that was actually happening.  CSUF has been steadily adding classes since opening in 2002.   As with all things Great Park, great sums have been spent creating pretty pictures, er “Design.”

Now that we're not going to build it, can we get the design money back?

Now that we're not going to build it, can we get the design money back?

Too bad that  Cal State Fullerton students are being told by their counselors that CSUF-I is closing down.  CSUF-I is a great idea.  I hope it makes it in the future. But whatever future  entity finds the money to resurrect CSUF-I will have their own agenda and their own needs, and therefore will need their own plan.  A new plan means a new design phase, so most of the “world class” planning expenditure for CSUF-I has been wasted.

But hey, we still have a fading Great Park balloon that has cost tax payers over $50 per rider – and already needs a half-million dollar replacement.
