Here is a description of this campaign:
It’s Time to Reform California’s Cannabis Laws!
California voters believe that our laws criminalizing cannabis (marijuana) have failed. According to an April statewide Field Poll, a majority, 56 percent support legalizing cannabis.
The time for reform is now.
The Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010 will:
- Regulate cannabis like alcohol: Allow adults 21 and older in California to posses up to one ounce of cannabis
- Give local governments the ability to tax and regulate the sale of cannabis to adults 21 and older
- Generate billions of dollars in revenue to fund what matters most in California: jobs, healthcare, public safety, schools and libraries, state parks, roads, transportation, and more
Kind of hard to run a store with only one ounce in inventory, so who’s gonna do it? Also, with so many strains growing it’ll raise about as much money as the self-reporting of out-of-state internet purchases.
Larry,
Thats one ounce for me and you walking down the street or in our homes. The limit for the dispensary or collective ios based on their membership size. So thirty members equals 30 ounces at any given time. Manyt collective have hundreds of members. Additionally, the limit in some counties is as high as 8 ounces. The state says that you can have up to one ounce. but local jurisdictions can allow you to possess more than that but they cannot r3educe the limit the state allows.
When are you going to open a Georgia branch?
..believe me, I’m NOT joking!
By defination it takes an ounce or more to make the proper “cocktail” if drinking it (as most cancer patients need to do) so Tirty ounces is about right!
Jillian, I hope it will come soon. Go your local NORML website to find you local chapter. Also ASA Americans for Safe Access is a good advocacy group to be in touch with.
