Teen Challenge “rally” Sat Oct 28th.

TEEN CHALLENGE INTERNATIONAL, TC “the proven cure for the drug epidemic,” is holding a rally this Saturday morning in San Juan Capistrano. For those not familiar with TC their local HQ is on South Main Street in Santa Ana. This rally is sponsored by their South Orange County facility based in San Juan Capistrano.

“David Wilkerson, (founder of Teen Challenge) is well-known for these early years of his ministry to young drug addicts and gang members in New York City in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Wilkerson co-authored a book about his work with the New York drug addicts, The Cross and the Switchblade, which became a best-seller. The book has sold over 50 million copies in over thirty languages since it was published in 1963.

In 1969, David Wilkerson founded Teen Challenge ministries, which has reached youth and adults with life-controlling problems worldwide through its centers. The ministry’s Biblically based recovery program for drug addicts has been recognized as one of the most effective efforts of its kind.” Over the years since it first began TC has been acknowledged for it’s effectiveness in saving our youth and young adults by President Ronald Reagan and President George W. Bush.

“The mission of Teen Challenge is to evangelize people who have life-controlling problems and initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society applying spiritually motivated Biblical principles to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation, and the community. Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive.”

TC programs include: Drug Education and Prevention, Teen and Gang Intervention and Prevention, Tutorial/Learning Center, Crisis Counseling, KIDS CLUB and Evangelism Outreach.

There will be door prizes, a raffle, clothing give away, nachos & cheese, punch and a Gospel presentation at the event which should end by 2 p.m..
