Are you a blog troll?

One of our readers has been trying to post comments of late ripping me, even when those comments are irrelevant to the post in question.

And he wonders why I keep deleting his posts.

Another reader likes to use a plethora of anon names to give the impression that a dozen people are saying the same thing when it is really just one guy.

He too wonders what is up.

And yet another reader likes to clog up our spam box with comments laden with expletives.  Then he too wonders why we won’t approve his filthy comments.

So are these guys blog trolls?

According to the Urban Dictionary, a blog troll is “A depraved individual who sits in front of a computer all day and posts flames of an idiotic or pseudo-intellectual nature on public forums and private websites. Many of these people actually become emotional about what is said on the afore-said mediums and feel it is their duty to punish those who disagree with them. They too may pursue this object in an obsessive-compulsive manner.”

I am not inclined to provide a forum to people who want to rip me and my fellow bloggers gratuitously.  If that is their goal let them start their own blog.  Nor am I given to approving crazed comments that have nothing to do with the posts in question.  If a blog troll has an axe to grind, let him do so elsewhere.

So if you want to come on here and call me, for example, a racist on every single post I write, guess what?  You are a blog troll and I am deleting your comments.  And if you want to hijack every single post we put up to rip Sean Mill, guess what?  I will put you in our spam folder.

And if you insist on using a half dozen different anon names at the same time, you will be banned.

If that is not to your liking, please feel free to visit another blog.  We will not let the trolls take over this one.
