The interview that is leading millions to say: “oh, so THAT’s Bernie Sanders. I get it now.”
What’s the opposite of a televised three-hour 10-person debate?
It’s Joe Rogan interviewing a calm, collected, and articulate Bernie Sanders for an hour.
I can’t get it to quite fit on our page, but you should be in it for the audio rather than the visuals anyway. (Hopefully Vern can fix it.)
This is your Weekend Open Thread. Do whatever it is you were supposed to do when these appeared weekly!
(A reminder: our commenting system is still broken and is sending everything to moderation, so please be patient when your comment doesn’t show up right away. Hopefully it will be fixed before the supernova.)
About Greg Diamond
Somewhat verbose attorney, semi-disabled and semi-retired, residing in northwest Brea. Occasionally ran for office against jerks who otherwise would have gonr unopposed. Got 45% of the vote against Bob Huff for State Senate in 2012; Josh Newman then won the seat in 2016. In 2014 became the first attorney to challenge OCDA Tony Rackauckas since 2002; Todd Spitzer then won that seat in 2018. Every time he's run against some rotten incumbent, the *next* person to challenge them wins! He's OK with that.
Corrupt party hacks hate him. He's OK with that too.
He does advise some local campaigns informally and (so far) without compensation. (If that last bit changes, he will declare the interest.)
His daughter is a professional campaign treasurer. He doesn't usually know whom she and her firm represent. Whether they do so never influences his endorsements or coverage. (He does have his own strong opinions.) But when he does check campaign finance forms, he is often happily surprised to learn that good candidates he respects often DO hire her firm. (Maybe bad ones are scared off by his relationship with her, but they needn't be.)
It hasn’t been so long that the dust settled from the fight over transparency of police misconduct records. Perhaps the situation rises to higher levels of “institutional memory” ?
We’ll let this one ride as the WOT for another week, unless Vern has other ideas.
Pro tip: if you want to get your comments approved here, don’t refer to women (and especially local female activists) using degrading slang terms for their genitalia.
If you really feel the compelling need to do this, you can go speak at a Council meeting and get yourself commemorated on video doing it. Then you can play it back for yourself whenever you want to remind yourself of what a scamp you are.
OC in the news! Remember the Proud Boys vs. Antifa faceoff in Bolsa Chica (unless this was something else)? I don’t recall what happened to the Proud Boys, but one woman who slapped someone was just convicted of battery.

(or memory loss ?)
Ben Hauck, writing on LA Progressive, offers what could be a response to this post, so we’ll pretend that it was and direct you to it. It’s very good!
When you listen to Bernie you know that is the guy that should be president.
Will he?
