Some of my Juice colleagues have been hammering Prop 8 yet ignore a scandel in their side of the aisle. This writer will not overlook this story that others choose to ignore. FL Congressman Tim Mahoney whose affairs have destroyed his marriage.

PALM BEACH GARDENS — In divorce papers filed Monday, the wife of Congressman Tim Mahoney claims her husband “recently sold jointly owned real property” moved the proceeds to an account in his name and “dissipated funds from said account.”
Terry Ellen Mahoney also claims that in the last two years Tim Mahoney “dissipated marital assets” and asks for a full accounting of the transactions so that she can collect her share.
Tim Mahoney, who has admitted to “numerous” affairs, said he paid Patricia Allen of Hobe Sound, a former staffer with whom he was romantically linked, $121,000 out of his own pocket to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit Allen threatened.
In a petition for dissolution of marriage filed Monday by Stuart attorney Karen Steger in the North Palm Beach County Courthouse, Terry Mahoney says the couple’s marriage is “irretrievably broken and should be dissolved.”
Terry Mahoney states in the petition that she is “in need of temporary, lump sum, rehabilitative and permanent periodic alimony, which the husband is well able to provide for.”
In his most recent financial disclosure form filed with Congress, Tim Mahoney listed his net worth as between $3.2 million and $12.7 million.

What’s your point, Larry? Man cheats on wife, vote YES on Prop.8 , I don’t get the connection. Maybe you’re trying to smear ALL Democrats because this Mahoney IS a Democrat, thus all Democrats are liars and cheats, using that logic ALL Republicans will DUMP their first wives for trophy wives (McCain) and ALL their daughters will be loose (Palin). Face it, this story is small potatoes, could and has happened to both parties and NO amount of PHONEY outrage can change that fact.

There is a valid point to this post. Others on this blog have surely beat up on Prop 8 with multiple posts and comments. In fact Vern should be happy in that this is an example of a straight couple whose marriage is about to blow up.
I didn’t break this story yet it is in the news. I find a little bias when these personal life failures hit Republicans and the blog is quick to jump on. Be it in a bathroom stall in MINN., Congressman Foley in FL and “Duke” Cunningham in San Diego county. Yet when an elected Democrat hits the news we tend to ignore the story.
By the way, when a Republican screws up I do not give them a pass. they may on other blogs but not myself if you read my posts.
In fact I beat up on our Republican (RINO) mayor pro-tem at tonight’s Mission Viejo city council meeting and chastized our RINO Mayor.
Good work on your Mission Viejo muckraking Brother Larry. I’m just hard pressed to find anything significant to say about Mahoney. Okay, a Democratic politician had an affair. And?
I really don’t think I would bother writing about some Republican politician who had an affair either. Sorry, Juice Brother, this story is just boring. And depressing. What is the interesting part?
Apart from maybe. Okay. This Mahoney did take the place of Mark Foley. So maybe we need to get rid of that Florida district, or have it represented by a eunuch in the future.
Will I prove my objectivity if I write a post called “Democrats have affairs too!” I don’t see how Mahoney affects the lives of anyone in California or anywhere else either, like Prop 8 does.
I should say actually, the guy does seem like a big jerk. Going by the comments I’ve heard him make, and a recording his ex-lover/ex-aide made of him sort of insulting/threatening her. There’s got to be someone better those Floridians can find, from either party.

You bet I support small government. Prior to the recent activism by those promoting the alternate lifestyle agenda, this was not an issue requiring government (or court) involvement.
Although I agree with several Libertarian ideas, this is not one of them.

How silly and short-sighted of us here in California to be more concerned with a life-altering California ballot initiative than the private supidities of a dippy congressman from Florida! Golly, how could we be so misguided? I guess some people just never learn. But it’s reassuring to know you’re here to set us all straight.
