Art Sanchez Exposes Laguna Niguel’s False CVRA Narrative
Calls Out Nepotism, Cronyism, and Political Retaliation
Laguna Niguel, CA, Nov. 25, 2025 — Democracy activist Art Sanchez issued a public statement today condemning the City of Laguna Niguel for manufacturing a false narrative in its attempt to deflect from deep-rooted issues of nepotism and cronyism within the City’s political structure.
“The real problem isn’t a demographer, and it certainly isn’t the fabricated story the City created about my attorney,” Sanchez said. “Laguna Niguel invented a false accusation claiming my attorney was a ‘vile, vengeful wife’ seeking revenge because her husband—who previously served as an Assemblyman—was once accused of sexual harassment. None of those allegations were ever proven. The Republican Party weaponized those claims to push him out and elevate a Laguna Niguel councilmember into his Assembly seat.
“But all that aside, the gripes about my attorney’s husband have nothing to do with district elections, the CVRA, or the fact that they legally owe my attorney for her work.”
Sanchez emphasized that the City’s entire narrative is a smokescreen.
“Laguna Niguel tried to turn the CVRA issue into a personal vendetta narrative to avoid confronting the truth: this City is riddled with nepotism and cronyism. District-based elections would finally expose and disrupt those entrenched political networks—and that is what they are really afraid of.”
He also questioned the City’s limited scope of testimony:
“Why are we only hearing from the City Manager? The council members who pushed this false narrative and defamed my attorney should be under oath. They weaponized lies to derail a legitimate civil rights claim.”
Sanchez announced his intention to file formal complaints against all attorney-council members involved.
“This is a cover-up of political corruption,” Sanchez said. “The City of Laguna Niguel will not escape accountability. CVRA will shine a light where they never wanted scrutiny.”
