Greg and I will be weighing in on a whole lot of other races this week, as well as the initiatives, but the above is what I really think is most important. And apologies to my favorite assembly candidates like Sharon Quirk-Silva and Chris Duncan for not including you here, but Democrats are NOT going to lose our super-majority.
And I regret I’m still not aware of any decent Republicans I could support this year, and that’s a first for me. That’s sad. Or “Tha’s sah” as they say in Pico Rivera!)
[Greg adds a warning: Michelle Steel ads have been spotted on our site. We didn’t choose them! IGNORE THEM!]
I join you in looking for Pro-Climate candidates in all parties. I am excited to find GOP candidate for city council in Cypress, Carrie Hayashida. http://carrie4cypress.com
I offer another GOP candidate offering solutions to climate crisis: Michelle Steel said as she received the American Conservation Coalition endorsement “I have always supported science-based, common-sense policies that protect our environment and the beautiful California coastline. In Congress, I will work towards climate solutions that promote innovation and diversification,” stated Michelle Steel, Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “We need leaders that understand the challenge at hand, but also have the foresight not to overburden small businesses with meaningless regulations.”
Craig! I thought you were joking at first. Michelle Steel, who did nothing about all the recent oil spills off her district’s coastline? She has no solutions to the climate crisis. Can you name one?
You and I know each other from campaign finance reform groups, so you oughtta know what the word “greenwashing” means. The American Conservation Coalition is a half-assed attempt for big (polluting) businesses and Republicans to be able to co-opt environmental issues. And these are not “small businesses” that Steel and the ACC are defending.

Even the little bit they may have once proposed, they have run away from. “ACC proposed a policy of taxing carbon dioxide emissions in September 2017; it has since removed that issue from its platform.” Steel and the ACC belong to Big Oil.
Plus Steel, whatever her proficiency level in Korean, is unintelligible and most likely illiterate in English. Whoever made that statement wasn’t her.
Lose many weights!
Good ol’ COVIDS!
Some environmentalist friends have been trying to get me to post the OC CLIMATE VOTERS GUIDE — that is, for folks whose biggest concern is fighting Climate Change at home. But we already have like four voters guides on this blog, their recommendations as far as I can see are almost all like ours… so I’m just going to put it up in comments here as well as promote it on Facebook! https://www.occlimatevoterguide.org/
I just checked it out. They did a lot of hard work, so I’m posting it.
