“You can control my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.”
You can only hope they pull the gun from the cold dead hands of the murderers that are invading our schools.
Using the tools given to them by the NRA (not the constitution) maniacal murderers are killing indiscriminately around the country men, women and children.
When do we as a people say this is crazy! When do we say – I do not want my kids, my wife, my whole family to die by the hands of a gun toting murderer at the local pre school while the little girls are having tea time and scones!
“In our terrorized, polarized, tribalized times it’s hard to think of a more psychologically fraught item than a gun.”
The blood soaked hands of the NRA are prying guns INTO the hands of the public with their general fear mongering. We do not need “General” Fear Mongering we need “Major” Change!
How could we turn our gruesome brain-splattered backs on this issue as we grasp at the hawk of fear propagated by one organization – the NRA. Gun ownership is battered around like a baseball by the politicians that receive tens of millions of dollars from the NRA – “Lets play bullets” they yell from the bully pulpit, “they are fun, a pleasurable sport for the whole family, just blow the head off the target and you are, the greatest.”
The Politics of death seems to be the sport and the NRA plays it like the pros they are. Politicians play off the game plan of the NRA and get high marks for their marksmanship from a large part of America pulled into the game of death with lies and manipulation.
Fear the criminals next to you in the store, on the road, in the school. Fear is the burden this violent society has hoisted on our shoulders on TV in the news papers and whispered everywhere. Even in the public toilets the NRA has little speakers that subliminally murmur over and over again “be afraid,” do not doubt this as there is nothing they will not stoop to.
Fear the criminal crawling into your bed at night and murdering you and your wife. I am not sure what your gun will do for you in this situation as it is under your bed or in your drawer or in the hands of the criminal, most likely.
You could ask the illicit intruder to stand down like a real man while you get the gun out of the closet, pull down the ammo, load the AR15, chamber a round and then have a man to man shoot out, but I just doubt that is going to happen, ever.
“Fear is the herpes of American politics; the symptoms may bloom and fade according to the stress levels or the phases of the moon but the virus never seems to die.”
They wrote of fear in ancient texts:
The sound of a driven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues. They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
– Leviticus 26: 36-37
We are not only afraid, but armed and dangerous. We can hardly drive to the store without wanting to shoot someone – Your lovely wife next to you in the suburban and your kids in the back seat all yelling “GET OUT OF OUR WAY YOU IDIOT” and your 10 year son chambers a round for you, mom is cursing and your 12 year old daughter is pulling her hair, squeezing words through her clenched teeth “Shoot him already”…
What have we come to, where are we going!?
Look at your real life for the facts they are right in front of you. Most of my friends have guns and supposedly know how to use them. My one friend in college was a paraplegic, shot in the throat by accident.
Another friend brought out his new M16 and was showing me it was not loaded. Before he handed it to me he pulled the trigger and shot through the wall and into the bed where his invalid grandma was sleeping – “Missed her by that much.”
Recently a friend of my daughter’s used his gun. He used it to kill his wife and then took his own life.
Not a person I have known in my many years of life used a gun to protect themselves.
It’s all just smoke and mirrors laid down by the NRA with their purchased political allies. Know the truth that the smoke off the hot barrel of a gun is not of benefit to our society now or in the future.
We can’t continue to allow the NRA to wave the American flag and the blood stained constitution over the graves of our dead children.
In the European countries guns are strictly controlled and the death rate is 1/10 the American murder rate. Is this control on our society worth your family’s life?
Look into your son’s face, your daughter’s eyes, and rethink the whole thing.

*As we have said so many times before: We need Mandatory Drug Testing for New Firearm Purchases and Transfers, utilizing expanded background checks which include
current (18 months) Mental Health Impairment Record, with TSA Glove Swab Technology
for Class 2 Drugs and above….which includes Cannabis with additives that are considered Class 2. These test are currently used for Flight Crews, NTSB Rail and Transit Employees and Public Safety Officers. The results are instant. No labs to confuse the issue. These tests will act as certain deterrence and make folks aware that Firearm Ownership requires Responsible Behavior…..for all Law Abiding Citizens.
Racist idiots who clutter Twitter with their insane Alex Jones B.S. should automatically be determined to be far too mentally unstable to either purchase or own a firearm. That means both Roseanne Barr and Traitor Trump’s guns should be confiscated immediately.
“We can’t continue to allow the NRA to wave the American flag and the blood stained constitution over the graves of our dead children.”
The NRA backs a majority in Congress (esp. in the Senate); they can and will turn out many hundreds (thousands?) of voters in both the 39th and 49th districts, not to mention every other district in America. So long as they turn out more than we do, our complaints are as futile as any other ‘thoughts and prayers.’
*Plenty of blame to go around….if you only listened, but you obviously are hooked on prescription Big Pharma. If you work for these folks, be ashamed. If you are using their products…..shape up and stop! Our NRA may be paid off by the Russians…..sold out to the Trumpster…..fronts for the Firearms Industry…..and drums up new members with chaos and rhetoric…..but hey, nobody’s perfect. Big Pharma is the one with their bloody hands in the Opium Fields of Afhanistan….pumping their drugs on TV….CNN and MSNBC…..so they won’t give them bad news reports……. Know you hate to hear the truth….but come on, how long are you going to live in the Anti-NRA Bubble? Hey, we even have Ollie North as our President. We wanted R. Lee Ermey, but he passed away….to early.
Seven children per day are killed by guns that is a choice we can make to take them out and save the children. 96 per day are killed in the USA by guns not of their own choice.
64,000 from drugs
88,000 from alcohol die each year men women and children and it is on every street corner literally on 4 corners for major streets.
Opiods is a personal choice and unlike alcohol the death rate for innocents is not applicable except for the children left without a parent.
So – you choose to use opiods and perhaps die – alcohol kills everyone around you and guns do too.
We choose to own guns unrestricted thanks NRA and your kid dies at school if they are not killed by drunk drivers on the way…
We can make the choice to limit guns in schools or beyond; the big question is whether we can make that decision stick, especially for others. I have doubts as to how much we can.
Guns are stockpiled less for home protection in “normal” times — which I consider a valid even if usually misplaced reason (given the likelihood of intrafamily violence) — than for being able to survive the complete breakdown of social order in extraordinary times. I understand the rationale for that, but I think that those who put their faith in guns for that reason and circumstance underestimate the efficacy of arson committed with flaming projectiles. You can’t protect your house when it’s gone. If you’re positing a complete breakdown in social order to justify your owning an arsenal, you can’t pretend that you’ll still have water delivery and a functioning fire department.
I have worked for Big Pharma before, but do not do so currently. Indeed, when working for them overseas, it’s far easier to defend what they’re doing – they lack the entire political edifice protecting and enriching them there that they’ve built here.
“Big Pharma is the one with their bloody hands in the Opium Fields of Afhanistan”
I saw absolutely no evidence of that when I walked through those fields in Afghanistan. And honestly, why would they need to? Opiods are fairly easy to produce anywhere.
“how long are you going to live in the Anti-NRA Bubble?”
Until their will is balanced by the majority’s.
I’m as critical of Big Pharma as anyone else: but this particular problem is not one of their creation, and mandatory drug testing is unlikely to alleviate the problem of mass slaughter. While one might seek to use them to ban gun ownership for folks with certain prescriptions – the NRA fought tooth and nail to prevent banning gun ownership even for men who described themselves as mentally unfit to work (claiming it was Obama’s evil ploy).
*Well, as you well know….Big Pharma does not plants Opium Poppies in Afghanistan…..themselves. Those Monsanto and Dupont trucks do not
roll along the mountains near Ubekistan. The unmarked Russian Trucks,
left over from that war….run across the border and from there into Pakistan
and then to India….Mumbai….where 10,000 companies operate manufacturing facilities for both Prescription and Non Prescription Illegal
variants…packaged and sent worldwide. Who Profits? Not the Afhan
villagers!
Don’t worry about Democratic voters this year.
Turnout in 2018 is not going to be a problem for Democrats; however, the Republican voter turnout is going to be way down this year thanks to Dumbass Donald Trump sending female Republicans to the exit doors of the GOP (which now stands for GREEDY OLD PERVERTS).
The NRA ain’t shit in California – GET REAL! In fact, this year the NRA ain’t shit outside of the Deep South, and even then their political influence among Southern voters has waned significantly in states like Texas & Florida for obvious reasons.
After making that drug-dealing felonious war criminal Oliver North their Dear Leader, the NRA is screwed!
In case you haven’t heard yet, the NRA is now known as the NATIONAL RUSSIAN ASSOCIATION.
YOu’re right — in California, it’s the CPRA (“California Rifle and Pistol Association”) that has the major impact in state and local races, not the NRA itself. Other than that — well, you haven’t done much work in actual electoral politics, right?
North used the money to fund the revolution in Nicaragua. Kind of the Che Guevara of Nicaragua.
But it was all according to our policies at the time – screw everyone and every country we can. Ruin everything and everyone exponentially.
Just learn Russian (quick) and in a few years we will all be OK…
