That’s the full list of endorsers featured on the campaign website of Lucille Kring.

A few caveats:

  1. I don’t actually think that Shirley McCracken and former Sen. John Seymour are actually among the worst people in Orange County; nor would I smear the entire OCGOP with such a broad brush.  Sometimes people are just wrong.
  2. I’m only disappointed to see one name here, and that is Todd Spitzer’s.  Todd, we are not remotely on the same page politically, but as you know I prefer you to Tony Rackauckas (or Susan Kang Schroeder) simply because I see how scared you make the people who ought to be scared of a D.A. who’s not in their pocket personally.  Endorsing Kring, without at least co-endorsing peace-making Father Arturo Ferreras, is a bad mistake that is not going to win you votes: because so long as Rackauckas is here and is bent on punishing his political enemies — you know a thing or two about that — human-shaped worms like Lucille Kring are going to stick with him out of opportunism and fear.  You can’t get those people’s votes, and you shouldn’t want them.  But you sure can lose a lot of other people’s votes by tying yourself to such a political calamity that not even the Disney-loving Register can bear to support her.  Come 2018, the DA’s race isn’t going to be decided by supporters of the likes of Lucille Kring, but by the likes of supporters of Arturo Ferreras.  You’re blowing your shot with them here.

He doesn't usually know whom she and her firm represent. Whether they do so never influences his endorsements or coverage. (He does have his own strong opinions.) But when he does check campaign finance forms, he is often happily surprised to learn that good candidates he respects often DO hire her firm. (Maybe bad ones are scared off by his relationship with her, but they needn't be.)
