Vern here. I humbly submit that this is worth five minutes of your time: another hard-hitting video from homeless advocate Roussan Joshua Collins, which I had intended for a weekend open thread that never happened, but still find worth sharing and discussing – Who steals cars from homeless women, the cars they are just trying to live in?
Cops are now harassing the homeless people who are living in their cars and then make excuses in order to tow their cars. It seem that her boyfriend had a suspended license but was just sitting in the car which was parked in the park. Another incident that happen to someone else where their tags were like a week expired, the first cop gave him a ticket and the second cop that stopped him towed the car even when he showed the cop that he had a court date pending. He couldn’t afford to take the car out of the impound, now he not only doesn’t have a car but he still has a court date. This seems to be a pattern in other cities where the cops get kick backs from the towing companies who sale the cars for more then what it would have cost to take them out. Shameful
This is inhumane.
Everyone come speak at city hall Tuesday at 5pm! We can make a difference!
How about Anaheim paving over the Karcher site, installing some portable toilets, and letting the car-homeless park there.
I notice the City let the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta carnies park their RVs over there.
Not exact, …….. but never gets old !
