Johnny Weissmuller was born as Peter Johann Weißmüller in Freidorf, June 2nd, 1904, today a district of the city of Timisoara in Romania, then a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Weissmuller would later claim to have been born in Windber, Pennsylvania, probably to ensure his eligibility to compete as part of the US Olympic team. Jane was born Maureen Paula O’Sullivan May 17, 1911 in Boyle, County Roscommonn, Ireland. Boy was born John Matthew Sheffield Cassan April 11, 1931 in Pasadena, California, USA. Will the real Lord Greystroke please stand up! Edgar Rice Burroughs needs to clarify some things.
Starting in 1931 to 1948, Johnny Weissmuller was Tarzan. From 1948 to 1956 Johnny Weissmuller was Jungle Jim! For over 25 years America’s greatest heroes were US Olympic swimmers Johnny Weissmuller and Hawaiian born Duke Kahanamoku. Their places of birth dictated by chance. Their actual performances dictated by dedication and natural ability. Only Johnny Weissmuller was able to get along with Cheetah…or the Chimp actually named Tamba. Everyone else on the set of the Tarzan series were scared to death of Tamba! We don’t know where Tamba was born however!
Fast forward to Ted Cruz, a candidate for President of the United States, born in Calgary, Canada. Ted even admits that he was born in Canada, to a US Citizen mother – which he believes qualifies him to be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States and candidate of the Republican Party to be President of the United States. According to this mentality, even if Barack Obama had been born in Kenya……he would be considered a Natural Born Citizen of the United States because his mom was a US Citizen. Ted Cruz is not a Natural Born Citizen of the United States. Unless he was born on US soil, which does include US Embassy and Consulate Grounds with the American Flag flying overhead, or at US Military or Medical Facilities which also exhibit leased, conquered or partitioned soil for the United States – no one is a Natural Born Citizen of the United States. Is Donald Trump correct and did Ted Cruz not denounce his Canadian Citizenship until 15 months ago? Did Ted Cruz purport to have dual citizenship ever? Does Ted Cruz currently hold a US Passport? What year did Ted Cruz first apply for a US Passport? Where did you say he was born on that application?
Clearing the air on this “birther issue” is probably very important. How was Duke Kahanamoku able to participate in 1912, 1920 and 1924 when Hawaii was just a US Possession? How did Johnny Weissmuller participate in the 1924 and 1928 Olympics for the United States, if he was not a naturalized citizen? These issues were undoubtedly broached by the Amateur Athletic Union, the governing body for the Olympics at the time. The great Jim Thorpe was even stripped of his Olympic medals purely because he had played semi-professional football one summer.
There is little doubt that there is certain doubt about the Ted Cruz “birther issue”. At least Barack Obama contested the accusation that he was born in Kenya. Barack Obama at least had documentation that cast some light on his birth in Honolulu, Hawaii two years after statehood. So far, we can’t find any reason to determine that Calgary, Canada has become a US Possession….just yet.
In the final analysis, Johnny Weissmuller, Duke Kahanamoku or Maureen O’Sullivan never ran for President of the United States. Only Johnny Sheffield might qualify, since he was born in Pasadena, California!
We are still checking on Cheetah….or by his real name Tamba! Tarzan, Jane and Boy!
I have to admit: I did not see the Ted Cruz angle coming.
I was really disappointed that you did not include Cheeta the Chimp in your photo of Tarzan, Jane and Boy. Of the 4 I liked Cheeta the best. He was a class act. I used to love to watch that show after school. Especially when Tarzan got into a jam and let out his call of the wild and all the animals came running from every direction to help.
If Cruz is nominated Trump may sue to overturn the decision based on the questions over Cruz’ citizenship status and his eligibility to become President.
It’s very strange. If you review Canadian Law at the time Cruz was born in 1970 you would note that it was a violation of statute for anyone born in Canada who became a Canadian citizen to hold dual-citizenship status with the United States.
If Cruz’ parents declared him soley a US citizen at time of birth then Cruz would be in possession of a government document called a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA).
So far, Cruz has not produced any such CRBA, which would put the story to rest. This is very suspicious.
As noted in this article – many people (to include myself) questioned Obama’s citizenship and elgibility to become the President.
I would be hypocritical if I didn’t call Cruz out. And we deserve some answers. Those Republicans who questioned Obama and refuse to question Cruz have no credibility IMO.
In fact, if the worst plays out it would adversely impact Cruz’ eligibility to hold his Senate job. So much is on the line.
Stay tuned.
You questioned Obama’s citizenship because you’re a partisan.
You’re calling out Cruz because you prefer Trump. They’re both Republicans.
Not apples and apples.
Oh, so now you’re able to read minds too, eh? 🙂
You’re a piece of work.
And you’re wrong across the board.
If the same dark cloud, re: citizenship status, followed Trump as Obama and Cruz I’d call him out too. I draw the line at demanding our POTUS be a natural-born citizen to hold the highest office in the land. The US Constitution supercedes all.
Rarely do you attack the overall logic of my collective arguments. Rather you attack me and make it personal.
IMO you’re a detriment to these discussions.
Umm, Obama was born in the USA.
Why did you question his status?
Was it racism or partisanship?
Had to be one or the other.
And while we’re at it, have you stopped beating your wife yet ? lol.
When the wife is black and blue and he’s got bruised knuckles, it’s a valid question.
“Rather you attack me and make it personal.”
That is correct. I’m challenging your claim to being non-partisan.
*Think NY Rangers…..not Montreal Canadians…..you hosers! Teddy needs to show his passport and his passport history immediately!
With this baggage that Teddy carries with him, imagine the liability he would bring with him as the Republican nominee and Hillary starts asking these questions.
If the Republican Party continues the civil war it’s now perpetrating in this presidential race I have a feeling that the outcome could be the demise of the Republican Party. Would would not be a bad thing based on what I’ve seen these last 16 years.
*Yep, Trump absolutely knocked it out of the park with his victory speech in Florida tonight. Suddenly, he sounds totally rational and all of a sudden Hillary will have to check her undershorts. Trump feels the victory and knows that that Rubio is now dust and Lyin Ted……has landed on his own sword. This guy Trump is now going to be pretty scary. Watch his victory speech tonight and tell us what you think!
Yes, I did watch Trump’s Fl presser.
One reason I like the guy is for his direct communication style. There is no question about where he stands on much of anything. And he minces few words on the various personalities who surround him. He doesn’t walk on eggshells like your typical politician. He’s a typical New Yorker.
Rubio is as good as gone. It’s just a matter of when he announces. You noticed that Trump laid off him at the presser? There’s no reason to expend any more energy on Rubio. Trump is a businessman and attacks the competition. Once the competition is removed he moves on.
I was amazed that Rubio only got 5% of the vote in Mississippi. His attack Trump strategy backfired on him.
The beauty about Trump is that he is not closed minded. He calls himself a common sense Republican. Although he’s conservative I think it’s fair to say that he’s a moderate conservative. I think you would be very surprised what he does with the US health care system if he moves into the White House. I would not be a bit surprised if he tries to reform it more in line with the Canadian system. He would get tremendous pushback from the insurance insurance and health care companies. But something must be done to control costs. We just can’t continue to spend 20% (or more) of our GDP on health care and stay competitive in other areas.
Trump’s weakness is the big money that oppose him. Tonight he won the big states. It’s questionable whether he’s going to be able to survive the continuous beatdowns. Powerful ads have tremendous influence over voting habits. Trump’s strength is the common man’s disgust with the state of our political system.
Actually I liked Ross Perot more than Trump. And it turned out that Perot was right about the direction of our financial system. The establishment scared Perot away. I don’t think they can intimidate Trump.
This should prove to be a very interesting election season.
“One reason I like the guy is for his direct communication style. There is no question about where he stands on much of anything.”
That’s a real knee-slapper, Donald Dumpf is known for his endless contradictory statements, you have no idea where he really stands on anything.
He makes big promises and boasts about how great he’s going to make everything, but nothing is backed up by specific proposals.
Where’s the great businessman’s plan with facts and figures?
Not available, all he offers is a bunch of half-baked ideas mixed in with a bunch of bald faced lies. His supporters, lacking critical thinking skills, are eating up his bullsh*t like it’s candy.
Who would’ve guessed that in 2016 an old fashioned charlatan could snooker so many people.
*Yep, we voted twice for Ross the Boss! If it wasn’t for the threats from the CIA and FBI against his family….he wouldn’t have pulled out…..but that is all history now. The good news is that Hillary will have to actually change her act….if she wants to get elected. Presidential…not like an irate housewife on night out with the girls at the local toy-boy strip joint.
Yes, Ron & Anna.
I liked Perot much more than Trump because Perot was not an entertainer/showman. He was just a rich guy with brains who wanted to improve the nation and our quality of life. He injected a dose of truth in politics and for that reason was not welcomed.
I agree that someone scared him away. I don’t know if it was the FBI or the CIA – but someone put the fear of God in Ross Perot. And he folded. He was leading Bush and Clinton by double digits – then made a terrible choice for his VP running mate – and the rest was history. Smart men like Perot don’t make dumb mistakes to sabotage their own success.
I often wonder what direction the nation would have taken with President Perot. Realistically one man (even a President) should have very limited influence over our lives. But maybe Perot could’ve derailed NAFTA, which most experts agree has been a failure.
Trump is no Perot. But he gives many of us hope that we don’t have to settle for more of the same which is taking us nowhere but down.
And I agree. Hillary will be forced to come clean with an opponent like Trump. That would be a very interesting matchup and ignite some real poltical passion in this Country.
“not like an irate housewife on night out with the girls at the local toy-boy strip joint.”
Wow. You might want to keep your SEXIST claptrap to yourselves, but I guess that would require some level of self-awareness, never mind.
*Two things…..(1) We support Hillary….but we are not blind either. She needs to become more Presidential. It has nothing to do with claptrap or what you might consider “sexism”….it is not…. It is a metaphor that needs to be addressed if she will win in November….nothing more than that. (2) As far as Ross the Boss is concerned….we loved him….but don’t forget who was the prior head of the CIA. George H.W. Bush. As we have mentioned so many times: “It’s a small world after all…it’s a small, small world!” The only thing worse would have been LBJ calling the shots….(no pun intended!)
” It is a metaphor ”
No, it’s not a “metaphor” it is a stupid, sexist remark.
*OK….how about this. “Hillary it makes you look like a bad member of a bowling team!” You like that any better?
