Shayan Mazroei

On the evening of Sept 7th 2015, 22-year old student Shayan Mazroei was fatally stabbed in a racially-motivated attack outside a Laguna Niguel, CA bar by Craig Tanber – a known White-Supremacist, documented gang member, and convicted murderer.

Shayan, an Iranian-American, was the victim of a hate crime. This page is dedicated to the support of his family and loved ones, to honor his memory, and to bring justice for this heinous act.

Shayan’s family is will be a candlelight vigil tonight at 7 PM in Laguna Niguel – His family would like everyone who was blessed to know him to come to their house for a candlelight remembrance of their only child. If you would like to attend please send me a message and I will provide you with the address.

2. Shayan’s funeral is tomorrow on Sunday September 13, 2014

3. If you are interested in making a donation to the family, please DO NOT do so via the GoFundMe link that has been distributed throughout Facebook- His family would prefer it if checks were directly made out to the family and sent to them. Contact us if you would like their address. His family is very interested in creating a scholarship fund in Shayan’s name.

4. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department just released a statement stating that they are NOT investigating the Shayan’s death as a hate crime, although numerous witnesses have stated that the killer and the girl with him hurled racist comments to Shayan. We will need community support regarding this matter to ensure that justice is served.
