*Kobe Bryant has done more in his NBA career than anyone might have ever expected. Kobe single-handedly facilitated Pau Gasol and some other fine Laker players to the NBA Championship in 2009. Today, after scoring more than 32,000 NBA points and ranking 3rd in NBA history it probably wouldn’t be totally disappointing for Kobe to retire with honor. We understand that Kobe wanted one more National Championship, but it has become more than obvious that the pieces are not there in the Laker organization to achieve that goal this year or next……the last year of his contract.
Having said that; Laker Byron Scott had already reduced Kobe’s playing time due to the rehab from last years Achilles problem. Father Time seems to have written Kobe a short note: Time to rest up big guy! Let’s face it, Professional Sports in general is brutal, no matter what sport you are engaged in from track and field to swimming, to baseball, football or even snowboarding as Shaun White found out last night in Aspen, Colorado. Kobe has been incredibly blessed, lucky and is still considered one of the NBA wonder players. His years of excellence have not been marginalized by either his competition with Shack O’Neill or even the accuser in Denver, Colorado. Kobe’s luck has been amazing! Playing on the the great Olympic Teams and together with his many individual accomplishments and Championships….perhaps he can spend more time eventually playing golf at Pelican Hills with the other rich and famous.
The time has come for Kobe to become the successful businessman that everyone expects of him. He soon will be opening offices in Newport Beach and in addition will be pursuing a greater role for his Foundation work; “The Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation”. Perhaps Kobe will do some “Cameo Performances” on Sports Center with Shaq and Charles – or doing Investigative Reporting with Bryant Gumbel….on Real Sports for HBO! Who knows what the future may truly hold for one of the greats of the game. Our dream is that Kobe takes the short money and allows the LA Lakers their space. Someday, perhaps the Lakers will ask Kobe back to fill an important role in the Laker Management Organization. If not, we will certainly find fault with the Laker organization and leadership for their total lack of vision. But then, the Lakers did get rid of Jerry West and Phil Jackson who are still considered supreme members of the NBA knowledge and intelligence.

We do warn you that his shoes are expensive! To Kobe, Vanessa and the entire Bryant Family and Friends we wish them every good success, but Kobe save your self and your fans – answer the memo from Father Time – We need to retire in 2015! We actually need to retire….today!
Kobe may be on his last leg and torn rotator, but we still love him! One last reminder Kobe: Even Brett Favre retired…finally!
*Meanwhile, we have a theory…..Peyton Manning is behind all the “Hate Brady the Cheater” Spam going on Sports Center. All of Peyton’s Ad’s have been pulled and
Brady wants too much money and too much class to do any ads. The same goes for
Russell Wilson. We don’t mind the Campbell’s Chunky Soup campaign by Richard Sherman….cause at least his mom gets to make a few bucks too! Troy Ackman and
all the other RETIRED Quarterbacks need to blow up their own footballs and sit on them.
The truth really comes out when rubber/pigskin meets the astroturf.
“The time has come for Kobe to become the successful businessman that everyone expects of him”……….. Hmmmmmmm
And having more time raping hotel employes. LOL
I’d like to think that this is Stanley Fiala showing his feminist side, but I don’t really know.
*Our fault Dr. D., when Stanley has no answer to any blog entry….notably (not this one)…..he really can’t help himself. Stanley really likes to do his Flip Wilson routine: “The Devil Made Me Buy That Red Dress!”. He just can’t quite understand that our Rodney Dangerfield always trumps a cute Flip routine. Is Stanley really Albanian?
My answer is always the truth embedded in the reality which will always collide with lie, ignorance and deception of an inquirer.
Obviously your morality Winships is based on celebrating negative heroes.
Maybe your next article should be based on Mike Tyson and Bill Cosby greatness.
Tyson and Cosby didn’t score 32,000 points, is the 3rd highest scorer in NBA History or win four National Basketball Championships. We do wonder sometimes if he ever let air out of the ball…though.
and the truth of the multiple DNA?
FYI Golem, recognizing the violence has noting to do with feminism.
I would expect nothing less of you — or nothing more, from my perspective.
It is clear that your reply is not construed so it would express your expectations of me re my comment, therefore, it is frivolous.
*We won’t bother to beat up this Kobe story because we are still very hopeful that Kobe after being examined on Monday by his orthopedic staff of champions will determine it is in his best interest to retire immediately…..take the short money and let the LA Lakers move on.
The big news of course is that Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have taken the air out of the room with in regards to the 59th Super Bowl which will be played on February 1st, 2015. As much as we love Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks, at this point we are pulling for the Patriots. The tempest in the tea cup argument that has blotted out news coverage of everything else for the last 10 days is rediculous. “The integrity of the game” is the call word by idiots like Troy Aikman and Mark Brunell and other talking heads of the Sports Center. OK, “Integrity of the game folks”. What about the illegal betting on games by NFL owners? What about point fixing of NFL Games? What about paid off Officials and Referees? Small potatoes….eh? 2 PSI is far more important than Domestic Violence? This is a joke! Rules? They change the rules every year. We never had instant replay over the last 40 years, when it was available even in 1970. They had to change the rules in 1979, so that the Pittsburgh Steeler would not win their 5th Super Bowl. The Oakland Raiders and their Fumble Forward from Stabler to Casper….never captured anyone ire……..but 2 PSI does? Hogwash!
*Kobe will have surgery shortly….hopefully, Kobe will announce that he will not be rejoining the Lakers next year as a player…but would consider being a player-coach with very limited playing time.
