NON-BREEDER’S DAY takes America by storm! Concert Sunday afternoon!

“Whether through Gaiety, Inability, Circumstance or Choice,
you declined to add to our species’ population,
we Mothers and Fathers salute you!”

Yes, it seems like only last week that this ringing Non-Breeders Day Proclamation was first penned, and just google to see how quickly the idea has caught on.  How long can it be now till Washington DC sees its first Million Non-Breeders March?  One thing for sure is I’m giving a Non-Breeders Day Concert at the Huntington Beach Library, Sunday July 21 at 4pm, details below.

Don’t get us wrong, we love kids and value the work of good responsible parents.  But consider the earth’s over-population problem: an estimated 680 million chronically hungry people on this planet, and according to the U.N., if fertility were to stay constant at 1995-2000 levels, the world population would soar to 244 billion by 2150 and 134 trillion by 2300.

Consider all the Non-Breeders you know personally, and – I’m sure you’ve had the same experience as me – how generous so many of them are, and how some of them are actually better parents / step-parents / foster-parents to the children among us then their actual progenitors are.

Consider how they must feel as each May and June, Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day pass by, leaving them uniquely neglected and unappreciated among adults.  And that, often, they feel ashamed or “less than” us breeders, when they TOTALLY shouldn’t, they should be PROUD.

And consider how nicely this July co-incides with the death of both Proposition 8 and DOMA, two huge strides forward for the equality of a HUGE, lovable chunk of Non-Breeders.

And consider coming to my concert Sunday July 21, 4pm at the Huntington Beach Library where we will specifically honor these fine human beings, at a concert featuring the childless composers Beethoven, Chopin and Shubert (probably more to come.)   My special guest artists will include second pianist Kimmy Le and flautist Janelle Barrera.  Be there!  Half-price for people who comment on this post that they’re coming.
