Huntington Beach bares newest Romney endorsement. This picture is intended for identification purposes only, as allowed for by "Fair Use" provisions of law.
Sometimes we may get accused of some partisan slant here or there, but when news happens in Orange County we at the Orange Juice Blog try to present it to you — even if it favors the Evil Soulless Robot to be nominated this month by the Republican Party in godforsaken Florida. Let the chips fall where they may.
It is in that spirit that we note for the record that former movie star Jenna Jameson of Huntington Beach, California, in the County of Orange, has endorsed Willard Mitt Romney of San Diego (or wherever) for President. Her reasoning:
“I’m very looking forward to a Republican being back in office. When you’re rich, you want a Republican in office.”
The LA Times story continues:
All together now, you Occupy folks: “We told you so!”
Jameson’s “let them eat cake” moment came Thursday in San Francisco while she was “sipping champagne in a VIP room at Gold Club in the city’s South of Market neighborhood,”according to CBS San Francisco. It added that she “made the comments exclusively to a CBS SF staffer who was attending an event marking the 8th anniversary of the gentlemen’s club.”
Well, there you have it. And, as with Mitt Romney, if you have what Jenna Jameson has, and have been willing to bend the rules to your advantage without regard for what others may think, it is understandable that you would agree with her and vote accordingly. If you’re in the more than 99% that doesn’t, well, your alternative path is clear.
(Interestingly, people’s chances of becoming as rich as Romney are calculated as being substantially less than their chances of fulfilling whatever fantasies they have regarding Jameson, although they both may look good on paper.)
We congratulate Mitt Romney on his support from a real people-pleaser. What we wonder now is whether JJ is native born, at least 35, etc. Choosing JJ as VP would totally fry Sarah Palin — and as with La Palin herself such considerations might well justify a choice of someone so unqualified as to threaten our nation’s very security.)
The Orange Juice Blog realizes that our raising the topic of Jenna Jameson’s endorsement of her fellow wealthy unbridled gobbler of other people’s goodies might lead some commenters to make inappropriate remarks below. You are admonished, with all the seriousness of a declaration of residency, not to do so. Such comments will surely be removed — even if only belatedly and retroactively.
With that caveat, this is an open thread. (P.S. The “x” in the upper corner of the photo is for when you’re done with it.)
I’ve never met a gentleman, nor seen anyone acting like a gentleman, in a gentleman’s club.
As far as the “unbridled gobbler of other people’s goodies”….are we talking about someone that takes more than half of the creme brûlée in a shared dessert situation, or somebody riding bareback and just holding onto her mane?
Or have we gotten really weird now and we’re talking about the peculiarities of dressage ?
I have no idea. I just went into a fugue state and when I woke up this was written and published.
“Dressage”? That’s a cross between massage and what?
Likely story.
So you had this image easily accessed on your computer ?
And I tried the “X” button, and it doesn’t work on her picture….no matter how many times I hit it.
Dressage is that hypnotic state that one goes into while preparing for a night of cross-dressing. So I’ve heard.
So you clicked the “x” button, did you? How many times were you done with it?
I took the image off the web with Google Images and captured the preview with the “Snipping Tool” (hence the “x”), because there was no way I was going to risk putting it onto my computer in its native form.
So you do remember…Fugueing Liar !
Oops. I fugued up.
The communist party endorses Obama – there are probably some hot commie babes. How about that commie spy chic a couple of years back?
“The Communist Party endorses Obama?” Say what? When?
http://www.independentpoliticalreport.com/2011/08/communist-party-usa-endorses-obama-for-2012/
Yes – the communist party endorses Obama for president in 2012.
A source quoting World Net Daily, skally? Reeeeeeally….
Webb said that for communists there are major differences between Democrats and Republicans. He urged his supporters to continue to back the Democrats.
Wrote Webb: “Neither party is anti-capitalist, but they aren’t identical either. Differences exist at the levels of policy and social composition. And despite the many frustrations of the past two years, the election of Barack Obama was historic and gave space to struggle for a people’s agenda.”
That is true! And the Republicans are a little closer to fascists. When did Webb start subscribing to “lesser evil” theory? I bet half the Communist party hates Webb as a sellout. That would make … ten of them hating on Webb?
This would probably be quoted more, by FOX and Rush and so on, but they don’t want to let it out that the Democrats are not anti-capitalist.
“Who is the Judaen People’s Front?’
“[sneering] … He’s over there.”
“[all yelling] SPLITTER!!!”
(Life of Brian)
skally if it was not on the daily koos site then it must not be true
The article you quoted by WND never says that the CPUSA endorses Obama.
Also that article is very inaccurate as they even got the name of the weekly paper incorrect. It is called People’s World, and here’s the link to the original article: http://peoplesworld.org/does-it-matter-which-party-wins/.
No where does it say that the CPUSA endorses BHO. WND is just making it up.
I guess that skally just wants us to talk about something other than Jenna Jameson. The question is: why?
Maybe he wants to talk about Willard. Remember the movie of the same name?
In that one Willard befriends a rat named Ben who turns on the family cat Sculley and with his rat friends they eat him.
Eventually Ben turns on the social misfit Willard himself, and tries to reduce him to rat droppings, but Willard ties him to the roof of the car and drives to Canada.
Oh, wait, wrong Willard. In the movie Willard kills Ben.
What a guy. Both of them.
and that’s Anna Chapman, RUSSIAN spy, he’s thinking of. Skally thinks Russia is Communist. God knows how he defines Communism.
Commie or not – she is HOT!

I now know more than I’d prefer about your taste in women (or at least their outfits), skally.
Well, the communists did fight for the minimum wage, racial integration, etc. I guess I can just add support for Obama, if true, to that list of moderate positions.
Ms. Jameson is in the same profession as Romney. They both made alot of money f**king people.
I’ll contact Jay Leno’s writers!
From Andrew Sullivan’s blog..
“”Romney finally gets a supporter who changes positions as often as he does.”
Jenna’s from HB? How come *I* never see her?
Jenna has added infinitely more goodness to this world than Slick Willard, in MY humble opinion. I’ll give her a pass on her stupid-ass political judgment.
One of the stories said she was from HB. It’s not like I was going to try too hard to verify that.
She got us 65 hits on a late Friday night in less than 4 hours, so I’ll give her a pass too.
Well, do I have important information for you-all! Jenna Jameson does live in Huntington Beach, and is married to local hero boxer Tito Puente. My brother Crab said so, and he would know. Actually I think I knew that fact too but had forgotten. I wonder what it got replaced with? Maybe the words to some Butthole Surfers song.
I agree with her – people as rich as Jenna and Tito SHOULD vote for Romney if they want to; and the rest of us, NOT.
Mostly I’m excited about my next few stories, and the day. Since this is an open thread and all, I’ll clue you all in:
Meeting Tea Partier Tim Whitacre in a minute, we’re gonna make our big purchase at T-Shirt Outlet. He’s also gonna help get me and Gus Ayer onto John and Ken to get all their rightie listeners INFORMED about the 405 Toll Lanes scheme.
Later me and Inge and Marselle are gonna interview people outside Chick Fil-a – supporters of Dan Cathy’s position, to see if they actually know what Cathy said. Because I found out Skallywag doesn’t, even though he knows he supports him, and even though he watches FOX News all the time, which ,,, is very interesting.
Also keep your eyes open for a good Obamacare story and a story about a certain trashy Anaheim blog’s libel of Voice of OC’s Adam E.
I told you that I don’t know the specifics of Cathy’s position concerning same sex marraige – I am supporting the fact that he is entitled to his position against those who would shout him down.
Well, like I’m going to be asking all the nice old people having dinner tonight, would you be supporting him if you knew he said gays should be quarantined? Jailed? Stoned? How can you be sure he said something you agree with? Aren’t you curious what you’re supporting? I know I wouldn’t go out of my way to support someone’s freedom to say something unless I knew what they’d said. Really, that’s what the cops are for, to protect his freedom of speech. What you people are doing is supporting what he said. And you don’t even know what it is.
And, if people want to know, I’ll tell them what he said. You could look it up yourself.
Equally interesting, conversely, is that FOX News apparently didn’t see fit to tell its viewers what he said, they just announced that liberals and gays are pickin’ on him, and you should all support him, and off you all went.
But I’m giving away too much of my story. And who knows – maybe I’ll find that some of the people there DO know what he said.
Got your graphic right here, Vern: http://thegloss.com/culture/7-comic-strips-that-suck-more-than-cathy/
Hopefully you will ask those who are opposed to Cathy’s position if they also know what he said…maybe also what the city officials of Boston/Chicago have said too.
Well, I know that Cathy’s comments were played on MSNBC, so we do know what he said.
And I’m with you that using official power of the law to punish CFA is going too far, IS a breach of free speech. (I know you and Greg last night were trying to determine where exactly to draw the line, and I don’t know either.)
The story won’t be so much about making fun of these old people, as exploring the interesting phenomenon of what FOX leaves out for their viewers, and how the viewers don’t seem to demand it. Also, I’m not really expecting to see any CFA opponents there.
Well, I am sure that you know what he said…but how many of the people who have an negative view of CFA know what he and the city officials said? I did not know that CFA patrons were mainly old FOX watchers. I am sure that there are plenty of stories that MSNBC leaves out information also. Both stations are mainly opinion and not news, especially in their prime time lineup. Is there a way to actually determine what FOX/MSNBC say without watching it? For example, I don’t really want to what them all that much but would love to know if FOX said what Cathy said and if MSNBC reported on what the city officials said? Hell, maybe I don’t even know what Cathy said- I am presuming you are referring to his who are we to shake our fist at God, guilty as charged, first wives, etc…statements.
Here is a FOX story that quotes what he says…or at least the part that I have been reading about- or at least the majority of it. The video at the bottom appears to be a broadcasted story on the network.
http://foxnewsinsider.com/2012/07/27/could-cities-really-block-chick-fil-a-based-on-executives-views-on-same-sex-marriage/
Oh and SOMEBODY here has to do an obituary for Red County.
I just checked it. It says it’s not dead. It says it’s feelin’ much better now.
You should give an atta-boy to Congressman Ed Royce for keeping RC on life support for quite a while.
Well, here we are, we’ve been here twenty minutes ouside Chick-Fil-A, it’s just really quiet, and the few customers we see (that aren’t driving through) aren’t even aware of the issue at all, they just wanted a good chicken sandwich. *Sigh* So we walked over to Baskin Robbins for some ice cream!
I guess this whole “Chick Fellatio” kerfuffle is over. We shoulda done this on “Support Chick Fil-A Day.” As S Johnson wrote the other day, not much staying power to be expected from the FOX demographic. But there’ll be a lot of young people who won’t feel like coming here for a long time.
And going by what TJ posted, maybe I concluded too much from Skallywag not knowing what Cathy said. Thank God for open threads. This has been an ALMOST story.
It was a rope-a-dope to get you to expend your energy uselessly. It worked.
?? We had fun sitting and chatting over ice cream. We knew it might turn out that way. Was on my way to work anyway.
I still think most of you didn’t know what Cathy said, and just went forth because FOX News told you it was a good way to strike back at some liberals and fags.
I personally think you are over emphasizing the impact of FOX- especially since you believe that most of those who eat at CFA are old FOX news watchers apparently (you have to admit, they make a real good sandwich). Are the Cathy statements you are referring to the same ones that I referenced in the FOX report yesterday? Maybe there are more as it seems like you believe that FOX never reported what he actually said.
Do you believe that most of those who are against CFA know what Cathy said? What about what the city officials said when they were implying that they were going to block CFA from opening in their cities- do the anti-CFA crowd know what they said? I personally don’t believe so.
Both FOX and MSNBC are heavily biased…they are not news, it is commentary. I do believe that most people don’t understand the difference which can be detrimental to us all- especially those who would rather just understand the facts and make our own decisions without having someone else tell us what we should think.
No, man, I don’t think most CFA eaters are FOX viewers. Before Mr. Cathy’s statement last month, eating at Chick-Fil-A was a completely non-political activity.
The huge influx of CFA eaters on Wednesday WAS a FOX News creation. And it’s gone.
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I suspected that, since Skallywag didn’t know what Cathy said, that maybe FOX didn’t report it, and that maybe a lot of the Chick-FIl-A antigay supporters also wouldn’t know what he said. So I went to check it out. But there were no more CFA anti-gay supporters left, and you found a link where FOX did report it (at least once.) So I wasn’t able to test my speculation, which may or may not have been correct.
All the MSNBC viewers I know (half my friends) know exactly what he said.
You’re right that MSNBC can get a little monotonous; it feels like it’s there to balance off FOX, and sometimes sounds like a cheerleading operation for Democrats. On the other hand though, their record of factual errors is microscopic compared to FOX.
Thanks for the clarification…at the end of the day, they make a pretty good product and their customer service is beyond question. Good product along with great customer service, at a reasonable price (they are not cheap IMO), will equate to more likelihood of financial success.
I could go on about asking more if those anti-CFA crowd knew what the city officials had said and maybe even what MSNBC reported on it (counter balance to your original argument)…but that is OK. As you said, “it’s gone”…hopefully so.
I said “it’s gone” as far as the big enthusiasm about it one way or the other. But I also said, a whole lot – maybe millions – of younger people who care about marriage equality won’t eat there for a long time.
Yeah, I think I know what you meant…I was just saying I would let the fact that you had not addressed whether the anti-CFA crowd knew what the city officials had said and how MSNBC reported on it.
I am sure that there is a group of anti-CFA crowd who now won’t eat there regardless of their age. There is likely also a new group who may have showed up to CFA for the very first time who will continue to patronize their local CFA every so often. One group will be larger than the other- who knows which one.
However, considering the fact that CFA does not allow its locations to open on Sundays (one of the busier days of the week for most fast food) seems to indicate that it does not put profits as its number one motive…something that I have to imagine that most can certainly respect.
“I was just saying I would let the fact that you had not addressed whether the anti-CFA crowd knew what the city officials had said and how MSNBC reported on it…”
Can’t speak for all of ’em, but I do, and the folks I know do. Many of us have had the discussion of exactly how much is going too far in reacting to the Cathy statements and CFA’s advocacy … and most agree that officially keeping them out of town IS going too far.
Okay, I’ll say it. Us liberals are better informed. Next?
“I am sure that there is a group of anti-CFA crowd who now won’t eat there regardless of their age. There is likely also a new group who may have showed up to CFA for the very first time who will continue to patronize their local CFA every so often. One group will be larger than the other- who knows which one.”
Well, we can make an informed guess, at least as far as California goes, by several things we know:
This year, 4 years after Prop 8 barely passed utilizing a barrage of misinformation and Mormon money, polls show 60% support for marriage equality. These numbers tilt HEAVILY age-wise with younger folks being overwhelmingly in support and older folks tilting against.
So on top of the 60-40%, we have to remember: Young people eat more, go out more, and eat more fast food. And as S Johnson observed in a comment to our previous story on the set-to, older folks “are not long for this world. They have clogged arteries, diabetes, and enlarged prostate glands. They can’t risk eating fast food! Ask my ancient (racist, church-lady) granny.”
So I’d say, that’s an easy guess.
Those are Christian chickens and they are in church on Sundays.
This cult has a plethora of control issues over it’s franchisees and their employees.
Check out the Forbes article : http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2007/0723/080.html.
I have to imagine that a potential franchise owner/operator has to know about the corporate culture prior to going down that road. The same would be true of employees…the culture of the workplace should be something considered prior to making the choice to work there. If one has profits as its sole motive, then it seems that CFA is likely not the one for them…go with another restaurant where they can generated 3X as much.
The CFA culture seems to be putting values above profits…how many times do we here companies/people who turn a blind eye to values in order to maximize profits. I still have to think that a lot of people can respect that. Not all CFA’s patrons are Christians.
DIdn’t I hear somehwere, though, that the one CFA in New Hampshire sponsors an annual Gay Pride Festival or something?
You are not eligible to work at CFA if you don’t subscribe to their religious beliefs.
Isn’t that discrimination strictly prohibited in the Constitution?
Where does CFA say that they won’t let anyone who is not Baptist work for them? Source please…(I have to go now, but will be back).
This is too easy.
[image: A flyer for the restaurant Chick-fil-a that reads: “Thank you NYU! for keeping Chick-fil-a part of your family. We are now hiring! Please visit our restaurant at 5 University Place for details!*” With the image of a chicken sandwich. In very, very small print below is the text: “Remember Chick-Fil-A is a Christian company. We strive to have our values reflected in our employees. Please be prepared to discuss your religion, family history, personal relationships, etc upon interviewing. This is how they advertise for employees in New York.
Non-Christians need not apply !
I’m out for the rest of the day myself, we’ll continue later.
I thought you were serious for a minute, but .. that’s a parody site!
A really good one!
I mean, it has to be, right?
haha … I’m 99% sure it is … I wonder how long they can keep it up, with that logo there and everything?
MSNBC is heavily biased? They have NBC regulars on there all of the time. If you’re talking about the hours of “Morning Joe,” I concede the point. (Who’s his counterpart on Fox?)
Dem…I had more respect for the regulars of the OJB. That site is not affiliated with CFA…it is a parody/protest site. The flyer was not for CFA either.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/09/chick-fil-a-speaks-out-on_n_1335449.html
If that is your source, then I guess I still have the question as to where does CFA state that someone is not “eligible to work at CFA if you don’t subscribe to their religious beliefs”? Still want to know…hopefully you are not just making it up and using a parody site as your source. Like I said, I generally have more respect for the regulars here.
Oh Demagogue … don’t tell me you fell for a parody site!
Greg, do you seriously believe that MSNBC is not heavily biased towards the left?
That’s not a cogent question, TJ; you have to specify. Management? No way. Maddow, O’Donnell, and Schultz? Biased, perhaps, but Maddow especially is not unfair. Matthews? He’s biased towards whatever the voices in his head are saying. Mornin’ Joe? Again, no way.
I don’t hear of the evening crew flat out lying, though, as I do hear from Fox.
It was funny, kinda.
I think they will let them keep the site up because, that is what CFA wishes that they could put on their ads.
Here is actually what they are doing:
• Chick-fil-A asks operator license applicants about marital status and involvement in community, civic, social, church, and professional organizations, reported Forbes in 2007.
From Salon a couple of days ago:
In 2002, Houston restaurant manager Aziz Latif allegedly was fired the day after he declined to take part in a prayer to Jesus during a training program. He sued Chick-fil-A for discrimination and reached a settlement whose terms have not been made public. Last year, Aziz’s attorney, Ajay Choudhary, told The Collegian that his client had been fired “for not conforming.” “Prayer,” he added, “should be, if anything, a private purpose, not a corporate purpose.”
In writing or not, I’d say that is an example of someone who was not allowed to work at CFA because of their religious beliefs.
Yeah funny for a minute, until I said- there is no way, even if they thought it, they would not state it. It does a lot of harm though when people may actually think it is correct- some people will believe anything.
The statement was “You are not eligible to work at CFA if you don’t subscribe to their religious beliefs.” There are plenty of people that work for CFA who do not hold the same beliefs…I personally have known of a couple (not owners, but workers, so may not be technically employed by CFA but the operator). They are good people, but don’t hold the same religious beliefs. Unless CFA does not let people knowingly work for them who hold the same religious beliefs, your statement would be false….I understand that this is blog though expressing opinions, but overall, I do not believe that CFA has a policy, written or unwritten, that you must hold the same religious beliefs as they do in order to work for/with them. My issue is more that one does not have to go over the top to make a point.
I wonder what other circumstances there were, if any, regarding Mr. Latif. If they fired him simply because he would not pray to the same G/god as the prayer was directed to by CFA, that is simply wrong- even if it was legal (doubt it is), it is wrong.
Did anybody else notice that the “Chick Fil-A” in the picture above is a parody of the female form?
Did Diamond realize that when he posted it ?
That is not Chick-Fil-A. That is chick fellatio.
“I could go on about asking more if those anti-CFA crowd knew what the city officials had said and maybe even what MSNBC reported on it (counter balance to your original argument)”
Thank you for the penetrating insight that there is unobjective partisanship in the media and among citizens.

Speaking of the Presidential Election –
Four years ago, President Obama became the first Democrat since 1964 to win Indiana. He looks unlikely to repeat that feat.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds challenger Mitt Romney picking up 51% of the vote while the president earns just 35%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and 11% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
You really should be careful about citing Rasmussen Polls. Yes, there are polls on the left that one should also be circumspect about citing. The objective person would be more apt to ignore all those and look to polls that average those that are seen as more objective and unbiased.
Sullivan does a nice job exposing Rasmussen;
http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2012/08/living-in-rasmussen-land.html
Tha’s okay, the Hoosiers will make up for it by giving us a new Dem Senator to replace good old moderate Reep Lugar, who got teabagged in the primary by a nutjob.
*The only way Romney can win is to fix the election in 42 States. Can’t say it couldn’t be done….probably already has been done before. But you people haven’t even heard ONE debate and you are quoting polls? Yeah, and Romney is getting the Bermuda vote too!
Still an open thread?
