"Why are there all these government regulations about releasing Krakens? We have to trust people with how they handle their own Krakens!"
This is apparently Texas U.S. Representative Ron Paul’s last campaign for President — unless, of course, he defeats both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama this year, in which case this writer will publicly apologize for saying so, if I can still be heard over the din of the rain of talking and dancing frogs with human faces that will mark the End Days — so it may be your last chance to see the most famous libertarian politician of modern times stumping for higher office when he appears at 7 p.m. tonight — May 2, 2012, for those of you getting to this late — at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Stadium. (I sure hope that they open the concession stands!)
You can get into the event with a free voucher available here.
Paul is currently in third or fourth place in most polls behind candidate Mitt Romney and one or two candidates who have dropped out of the race, but if he has any states where he might still be expected to take a big chunk of delegates, California and Texas would figure to be among them. Or so I presume. No one in the media seems to be paying a lot of attention anymore. Still, how often does an event like this come along? Now that Gary Johnson appears to be picking OC’s Judge Jim Gray to be his Libertarian Party running mate, we’ve got about a month left of Ron Paul and people might as well make the most of it.
Paul stands for a philosophy of … oh, why bother? It’s Orange County — if you’re at all disposed to attend this event, you already know what he stands for! Have fun tonight, libertarians!
I’m gonna be there. As a correspondent for Orange County’s fabled weblog, “The Orange Juice Blog,” I get favored seating.
First though I gotta hit this Planned Parenthood lunch with some pro-choice nun and rabbi.
I’m speaking at DFA down in Costa Mesa, so I’ll miss it. Too bad — I would have enjoyed checking it out, mostly for the crowd. It’s pretty nice for CSUF to have landed this event, by the way!
Damn youre right DFA is tonite .. and youre finally coming? Oh well, you can take my place.
I’ve been there before several times, for the Obama and Brown campaigns, for example. I went to Irvine more when gas prices weren’t $4/gallon.
Bet Allen Bartlett’s nipples are hard about this event.
Well, that’s rude, anonymous one.
*Vern,
If you go…..say hello to Bruce Whitaker….he may be there. And tell Grandpa…how
much we loved his run for President. Digging up Ben Franklin is still going to be the toughest part of a Ron Paul Presidency…….that and getting Samuel Adams to write a good recommendation letter in the “Sons of Liberty” newsletter. OK, just take a six-lack of Samuel Adams instead….maybe that will do.
