I'm gonna need all the friends I can get.
For years now various members of this blog have railed against Congressman-for-Life Ed Royce and the way he has worked hard to stick Fullerton with the most useless, imbecilic repuglican drones he can scrounge up. Idiots, young and old; especially old: geezers who pose no political threat to anybody and who could be relied upon to oppose potential Democrat challengers of Royce himself.
Royce has never given a damn that he helped foist upon his hometown a biblical succession of big government RINOs whose only distinction from the Democrats he fears so much is party affiliation.
“RINO”? Don’t try to foist this guy on us Democrats. He’s a Republican through and through — maybe not a 4F variety, but well within the party’s mainstream — almost all of the time. Look it up.
As for the alternative of Gary Miller — well, Miller starts as an underdog, so by all means go ahead and plump for him. He’s certainly started sending out a lot of campaign-style “franking” mailers early.
Greg, Republicans have a right to say who’s a RINO, and being a RINO doesn’t mean you’re a Democrat. The main reason Tony and his fringers would call someone a RINO is if they pursue policies that waste the public’s money. And that does NOT make them a proper Democrat either.
Here we part company: pursuing policies that waste the public’s money makes Royce a RIF: “Republican In Fact.”
(As for the notion that only members of one’s party get to define who typifies that party, I regret to say that apparently Republicans never got that memo.)
Anti-government libertarians are actually the ones who are RINOs; they should be glad of that. Most of the county isn’t like dear OC.
Hey Tony, tell Sipowicz I’ve got some good damaging material on Royce squirreled away if he wants it…….
Give it to me and I’ll put it on my site as well next to the OC dreamers.
Give it to me and I’ll pass it along.
done………
I just saw someone proffering dirt on Gary Miller. I’m glad this is going to be such a clean race!
Well, maybe Sipowicz is right. A third option.
