We’re sure between a rock and a hard place, as long as our small Republican contingent won’t consider revenues (and our Dems are arguably overly beholden to the unions.) Thank God we have Jerry Brown to keep us honest. You out there, Newbie, or skulking?
Oops,
Legislators won’t get paid now according to John Chiang. Apparently they had to not only pass a budget, but also get it signed into law.
Good for Jerry.
Schwarzenegger already did enough damage to the state with his reckless borrowing, irresponsible tax cuts, and gimmick after gimmick that were denied by the courts as being illegal or unconstitutional.
That was the best the democrats could produce.
They thought Brown was going to give them carte blanche, looks like they were wrong.
Maybe they will resign in mass to protest the veto.
Unlike liberals, I’m happy to admit when I’m wrong. I just wish the governor wasn’t so weasally yesterday and simply had said he was going to veto the gimmick-laden budget (I would’ve reserved all my vitriol for the cowardly and greedy Democrat legislators). I give him credit for sticking to his word. However, I will not take back what I said about the Democrats, because even you faitful lefties know the faux budget was nothing but a desperate attempt to save their precious paychecks and had nothing to do with putting a real budget forward. I don’t know what effect the veto has on their paychecks, but I hope it means they permanently lose them per Prop 25.
And I don’t skulk Vern, I brood.
Don’t worry, I’m wrong half the time. In fact I’ve been thinking that would be a cool thing to do at the end of each year, “Things I Was Wrong About This Year.”
Um, not true, I often admit when I’m wrong, so don’t be so sure to say, all liberals don’t admit when they are wrong.
*We love Downtown Jerry Brown……of course we do. What other Governor of California ever had the juevos rancheros to spit on his own party? Ya gotta love
the main dude of California.
Sure….. Winships (limousine democrats)
As I stated in may other post yesterday, he may got the message that the Leftism sucks from the yesterdays market failure due to the Leftist Greece.
However, I believe that a man who unlawfully visited Fidel Castro is a fraud and his veto was conspiracy to entertain idiots like Winships who will vote for his tax extension.
We need more Winships, Nelsons and Gilberts to bury this state dust to dust.
good for moombeam , but i dont trust him .
*Downtown Jerry Brown is bigger than Goldman-Sachs…..he has integrity. He said he wouldn’t pass a tax increase without a vote of the people. Name calling from “From the Market” will not change the fact that fundamental and systemic changes are on the horizon for our global economic consciousness.
Without the name calling “Dr. From the Market” try innovation, try downsizing CDO’s, global real estate values, liar loans, derivatives and the rest. Your house of glass built on pyramid schemes are now ready for the scrap pile. Try bringing some manufacturing jobs back to California. Try bringing some integrity into our economic system. Try making the banks do what is honest and reasonable when it comes to loaning small business.
Downtown Jerry Brown….gets it. Whatever comes of our CA Budget…..it will require the fundamentals of a high school accounting class….to be applied. DJB wants you economic elitist to understand that your $6 million dollar house in Newport Coast is now worth $2.4 to $3.1 if you can find the right sucker!
Now what were you saying about closet Liberals, Conservatives and the Tea Party?
“Name calling from “From the Market” will not change the fact that fundamental and systemic changes are on the horizon for our global economic consciousness.”………. Hmmmm
I like name calling even if it not changes anything.
It is funny to cal stupid people idiots especially if they are Leftists.
They get angry and offended which itself is an accomplishment.
The reason why USA was unique and prosperous was because it strictly adhered to its constitution, concept of supply and demand and individualism brought by immigrants escaping the global socialism via the church.
The Plymouth Rock Colony (first HOA) was their lesson of socialism dis-functionality.
That is gone with prevailing socialism and so is the USA……. it can never be fixed.
The socialism can only prosper in poverty and the poverty is intentionally created by globalists so they can control the people.
The prior two attempts of globalists to install global socialism via the SSSR and Third Reich failed.
Now via the USA and China the globalists may actually succeed and install global socialism which may work for next 2000 years until a global destruction will eliminate humans and their defective DNA which desires togetherness and the new civilization will arise based on fixed DNA by Annunakyes.
I’ll be there via the reincarnation.
I make sure that I will not return until all socialists, leftists and moron mongoloids are gone even if it takes million years.
In a post a couple weeks ago, I forecast this type of budget woudl be passed, but I was wrong in also forecasting that the Governor would begrudingly accept it. His veto was reportedly the first Gubernatorial veto of a California budget since the 1930’s. Like it or not, this is a sign of strong leadership. It took guts. I am now hearing the impasse could last into the fall, with no budget until then. Countering this potential is the apparent fact that the Controller will not pay legislators until there is a balanced budget, so that adds pressure to hammer something out sooner than later.
*According to todays LA Times…it was 1901 since the last Governor of California vetoed his own parties budget.
And it was this Governor who created the public sector unions 30 years ago in California which provided for such nutty budgets and the beginning of the golden state change into rusted iron state.
Finally his own failure caught up with him.
BS, the irony? it was the Democratic Legislature. Brown wanted to take the surplus and cut property taxes, Democrats went on a spending spree and you got Prop 13.
*Harry Lime….return to under your own rock! We suppose Med Whitman would have
saved our State….by now…..hey?
“We suppose Med Whitman would have saved our State….by now…..hey?”……. Hnnnnm
She saved eBay!
What did Brown saved as big as eBay?….Huh?
Name one thing.
Meg would have signed the budget, just like Arnold did. Arnold spent the last 8 years kicking the can down the road, we would not have this big of a mess if he didn’t.
Obviously it was conspiracy between Brown and Democrats.
Everyone in the loop knows that.
Democrats put in the budget intentionally lot of the no-brainier illegal items so the X-California Attorney General couldn’t sign it.
That does not make Brown not “kicking the can down the road”.
He just put a new can on the road because the old one was pretty banged up.
Lets see what Brown will sign in the end of the day.
Would you trust Brown if he would visit Osama or Hitler?
He did visited Fidel Castro in violation of the USA law. (Brown is felon and communist)
Obviously Leftists at this blog like Fidel Castro and his hi misery living standard index so they like Brown too to bring the misery to California.

Exile – you are not correct in assigning the responsibiltiy for the launch of public sector unions in California to Jerry Brown. The process actually began with the legislature’s passage in 1968 of the Myers-Millias-Brown Act that was signed into law that year by Governor Ronald Reagan. It authorized employees of cities, counties and school districts to organize and engage in collective bargaining, and required cities, counties and school districts to engage in collective bargaining with such unions. So, Brown did not start California on the slippery slope of public unionism, Later as Governor he did, however, sign legislation creating the same requirements for state employees and state university employees, thus expanding the process begun by Reagan.
*Harry Lime….you reek….of incense…..from India…….or maybe Pakistan! You don’t have the credentials to offer any info on Fidel or anyone else.
So you are drunk again Winships…. Huh?
I should add Winships,
Read the article there is all info you need unless you are already suffering from the delirium tremens symptoms and jaundice as result of the alcoholic cirrhosis.

*Harry Lime – what medical school did you graduate from again….the KBG school for wayward girls perhaps? You are so hung up on Fidel…where were you in 1958 when he needed another Che to send on a motorcyle trip through Argentina…? Batista could have used you as his personal driver. What side were you on again? Or were you the guy that worked in the liquor store….in Havana maybe? It was probably you that suggested that Fidel take those Russian missles! Topaz…..would have never hired you Harry.
Write Raul a letter maybe he has a job for you.
Somehow Winships, you must put some coherency into your thinking.
The KBG(sic) agent wouldn’t be pro Batista and would most likely support Fidel.
I couldn’t gave rats ass about about Fidel but he represents most oppressive form of communism and our Brown did consult with him and Brown’s behavior is creating same misery in California as is Fidel’s in Cuba.
Until Brown rescinds union’s contracts and put them under a control so they do not run my life then Brown is nothing but domestic terrorist.
*Back to the issues at hand……”The Budget for California”……So, the Republicans are not going to help in any regard and just want to burn the ghost town down. Not very attractive!
So, the Democrats want to play word games without a Scrabble Board…..Not very
attractive either!
What the HELL happened to allan mansoor. I saw him on a news cast the other day. He does not look good. Either his age is catching up to him, or being an assemblyman is too much for him to handle.
I pick # 2 to much for him to handle
Mesan – wonder if the Sacramento atmosphere or pretty young female staffers and heavy drinking is taking its toll? These are the temptations of being away doing the people’s business in Sacramento, and many do succumb.
