For his thousands of hours of selfless behind the scenes volunteer work, Juice Editor Vern Nelson has been named the Tea Party’s “Man of the Year.” “I thought that I had done a good job of keeping my support secret and behind the scenes, but evidently not,” gushed a excited Nelson beaming with pride with the honor. “I cannot imagine a better group of people to be associated with.”
Nelson has worked tirelessly this year on two seperate projects: 1) Take Back Corporate Wealth, and 2) Seal Our Borders Now. “Both of these projects were once in a lifetime opportunities,” Nelson reported. “I think that our efforts with the Take Back Corporate Wealth have produced remarkable results,” Nelson commented on the program whose primary purpose was to stimulate government subsidies for larger corporations. “This program has worked remarkably well for the NFL in every City but LA and has had incredible success during the Obama administration in the banking and finance world.”
When asked if he was going to use this honor to gain public office Nelson quickly grew serious, “these folks don’t know that I am still a registered Democrat and I would like to keep that on the downlow if you don’t mind.” Only time will tell Nelson’s true intentions.

Couldn’t go to a nicer guy! On a little more serious note, I hear the City of Santa Ana is holding secret talks regarding a new tax… a 911 tax…Just what Santa Ana residents need..another tax!
how about a post on that?????

I understand they plan to hold an event soon at the Nixon Library to present the award. (Or was that the Reagan library?)

I knew – I knew – I knew it!! Vern is a closet Conservative.
Here is the evidence – Vern said semi-nice things about Ed Royce and Gary Miller – heck most conservatives would only say semi-nice things about them.
Vern said:
“Okay, watched Royce’s .. and Miller’s .. speeches, and they were not quite as bad as I thought. They both said things I agreed and disagreed with. They both made a point of giving props to moderate, democratic Muslims – as did the emcee. They both offered reprehensible quotes from one or two of the speakers who were gonna be at the event ..”
And then Vern questioned the motives of ICNA in sponsoring the radical speakers.
Vern said:
“.. Why he’d (Malik-Ali, the radical Islamist) be chosen as a speaker for a charity event by ICNA I have no idea, but I plan to ask them ..”
Yup, Deb Pauly and Vern – BFFs – who would have guessed that one? Welcome to the light Vern – welcome to the Right.
No, I’m very liberal. I just see nuance, and don’t make everything black and white.
I look at conservatives and Republicans like in that great old Far Side cartoon that I wish I could find a copy of: Scientists are looking thru a door into a window filled with “fools,” and the lead scientist says “Yes, gentlemen, we know they’re fools, but the question is WHAT SORT of fools are they?”
“nuance” – if I never heard that term again I would be very happy.
Well nuance is what you were appreciating in what you liked of my writing, although maybe you didn’t get it.
Nuance is saying that Royce & Miler’s presentations were also offensive although not as bad as Pauly’s (altho some smart people disagree with me there.) And it’s saying that these Muslims shouldn’t be abused, but I don’t understand why ICNA would choose Malik-Ali as a speaker, and also there’s nothing wrong with the Imam having pipe dreams that some day America could be under Islamic law as long as he’s not doing anything violent or illegal to make that happen (he’s not.)
Seeing nuance doesn’t make me a conservative, that’s for sure. PLUS, I have no idea why hating on or accepting Muslims should be a liberal or conservative idea at all. It’s more an AMERICAN thing, to stick up for our country’s freedom of religion and assembly.
“Seeing nuance doesn’t make me a conservative, that’s for sure.”
You are mis-using the term “nuance” – you don’t “see” nuance, you “see” distinction.
“I have no idea why hating on or accepting Muslims should be a liberal or conservative idea ..”
Conservatives accept peaceful people of all religions.
Do you want more similarities between your views and those of Deb Pauly? – I have more.
