Well, today today the first “Shawn Nelson is an Evil Defense Lawyer” hit mailboxes, just like we knew it would. This has been the anonymous refrain from the John Lewis & Co. hacks and flacks since day one. We even busted Tom Daly’s supposed “campaign manager” doing it on our blog. The mail piece came from Sidhu, the phony resident of the 4th District.
The funny thing about it is, so what? The obvious conclusion is that people don’t like lawyers, and defense lawyers defend creeps. Sure they do. They also defend innocent people who are being railroaded by ambitious and unscrupulous cops and DAs, and who are accused of all sorts of heinous things. I doubt if there’s a reasonable person who hasn’t contemplated what the police power of the government could do to them if they were falsely accused of something.

Using the Evil Defense Lawyer stuff is so lame. We need defense lawyers as much as we need prosecutors. I’m also sure that many of those that make these charges against Nelson (and others) have themselves used defense lawyers in the past. There are plenty of reason to not vote for Nelson, but this is not one of them. Besides, I thought he was a ambulance chaser, not a defense lawyer.
Its so sad and embarassing to see Democrats cheering this sort of negative attack on a guy running for office. So the guy is a defense attorney. So what? Its his job. Someone has to do it. The guilt by association which is implied with this negative piece is shameful. The fact that Demcrats are cheering it on is embarassing.
I guess the people who complain about defense lawyers would never hire one if they were wrongly accused by the government. Only advocates for big government celebrate prosecutors (hey, the government is never wrong, right?) and use cheap attacks on defense attorneys.
The guys Paul alludes to and Tony mentions are NOT Democrats. Really they are not Democrats anymore than Hanlon and Jubal are Republicans.
Sdly, both the LOC and Red County have sold out. There is ZERO editorial value in anything published at LOC (Harsh but True) and the integrity of RC/Green Faucet is nonexistent. They are an infomercial.
Both have sold out. This is doubly dissapointing but TRUE, equally ironic and embarassing.
For Harish Sidhu, anaturalized citizen to poke holes at the right to defense, is almost as crazy and the ACLU driven OCDEMS.
Again it’s all hyperboyle, none of this is for real to them only the $$$$.
I got my anti Nelson hit piece in the mail today. Nelson should be more upset about the picture Sidhu used of him, than the critique of his clients.
