I’m spreading the word on this. I think it’s fabulous. I did not come up with this idea. This appeared on the door of a Urology doctor in Florida. It’s a taped sign that reads “If you voted for Obama, seek Urological care elsewhere… changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years” I love that! You can download a pdf of this sign for all doctors (any occasion) here. Take it to your doctors and see if they will post it on their door. As unpopular as the Health Care bill was, they probably will. If the screaming meemies come at you, here’s a list of reminders:
- How the left reacts to a Democratic result
- There are 30 million new “entitled” patients, who think health insurance is for every hangnail and toy car up the nose. They will be sitting in your doctors waiting room because there aren’t any new doctors to take up that slack.
- Tell the Heavy Breathers “Sorry, you can’t criminalize political actions.” And they will scream about legalities. Oh will they scream. Remind them a business has as much right to be political as they do. And remember, they can still walk in the door.
- Only people getting the freebies will get upset. The adults disgusted that their child won’t have to grow up until they’re 26, or those who see their prescriptions rise, or those law abiding adults suffering through this recession who suddenly have to think about paying 17% of their income on this new health care mandate will appreciate it. The doctors know it.
- If the leftists and radicals succeed in arguing they are entitled to the services of doctors today, how far away are they from insisting they have a right to what you sell or provide?
- As well, the next time you visit your doctors office, you might take along a stack of reading material about Obamacare with a sign that reads: “This is what the morons in Washington have done to your health care. Take one, read it and vote out anyone who voted for it.”
“Remind them a business has as much right to be political as they do.”
Thanks for that red herring, but it’s not a matter of whether or not a business has a right to be political.
A larger question for this doc to ponder is whether or not this violates the Hippocratic Oath. Two interesting parts of that oath;
“I will prevent disease WHENEVER I CAN, for prevention is preferable to cure.
I will remember that I remain a member of society, with SPECIAL OBLIGATIONS to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.”
(emphasis mine)
No, the hippocratic oath is “First do no harm”. Doing without Obamacare is the first step. Nice try tho.
And denying care to someone carries absolutely, positively, 100% no chance of doing harm?
Nice try though.
Typical leftist babble. Remember the part “to ALL”, not just those who swear allegiance to Obama. If those people are entitled to the cost and detriment of the rest, then who is more worthy of that help? Make no mistake, the only thing anon is concerned with is that everyone get the same lousy level of care, because EQUALITY, not liberty is their main principal. Liberty is on every coin because its THE DEFINING AMERICAN principle. Equality Uber Alles is Europes defining principle.
People who seek entitlements to the detriment of their fellow patients, without recognizing their own OBLIGATIONS, deserve to be told who and what they are. And as the article points out, nobody is turned away. Keep yappin.
here here!
Well that’s a nicely convoluted avoidance of the question I asked…as it relates to the Hippocratic oath.
So I’ll ask it again…a doc who denies care to a person who voted for Obama has absolutely, positively, 100% no chance of “doing harm” to that patient? Can you get past the ideological brain fart you’re having long enough to wrap your closed mind around any possible scenarios that would answer that question one way or the other?
I understand some of the good citizens of Mt. Dora FL are already testing out their urological systems on Dr. Cassell’s stupid sign.
What’s the matter Terry, couldn’t find the pic? Here ya go…
PS. Irvine Reporter, it is “Hear, hear.” “Here here” is what you say to your spaniel.
The question is your way of changing the subject Anon, since no one is denied care. I wouldn’t bother to address a lie.
Vern, didn’t think the picture fit. I like my copy better.
If a doctor does not want me for a patient because of who I voted for, why would I want to go to that doctor.
Since he or she does not care about me to begin with, then what would keep the doc form giving me the wrong medicine.
I want a doctor who cares about me getting better or not getting sick in the first place, not some joker who wants to get some free publicity by putting up a sign that says I am not going to treat over half of the voters in the country because they did not change things the way I wanted them to. How Lame!!!
National Libertarian Examiner,
That doctor is not denying care to people who voted for Obama?
No anon. You need to read more carefully.
Tell the Heavy Breathers “Sorry, you can’t criminalize political actions.” And they will scream about legalities. Oh will they scream. Remind them a business has as much right to be political as they do. And remember, they can still walk in the door.
Freedom of speech is a bitch.
Jim, you can try to argue that way if you want. But those health care approval numbers are only going the wrong direction, 5 days out, and it was never “more than half”. And no one doesn’t get treated. Conservatives aren’t like leftists who think its OK to ruin peoples businesses because they don’t like them politically. But you do have to walk past the sign.
“Walking in the door” equals “receiving care”?
You are one twisted soul.
Crap, my bad
Anon
What a disturbed individual you are.
Read “The Arrogant Bastards”

Macro views aren’t superior to micro personal behavior. Just because you hold what you consider to be a superior cultural view and can treat others like crap (see previous arrogant, insulting and insipid remarks), doesn’t mean others do it too.
Those of us who understand that micro personal behavior is the important thing, and can treat anyone the same, whether they think like us or not, we’re the real Americans.
You might try it some time.
Again, no one is asked their political values in the office. Get your head on straight. I know the truth is like the cross to a vampire, but if you feel like your not wanted there, don’t walk in the door. The doctor will, of course, honor the green of your cash. Thats American too.
and what’s up with weird fonts on doctors signs. thank you, thank you very much…don’t forget to tip your waitress.
“Those of us who understand that micro personal behavior is the important thing, and can treat anyone the same, whether they think like us or not, we’re the real Americans.”
And so this doc, if he turns a hurting patient away because they voted for Obama, is treating that person the same as someone he chooses to dispense healthcare to because they didn’t?
You have a strange view of equivalency.
Anon, Terry expected you to click on his links and read the article. I don’t blame you for not doing that, but I’d seen this story on TPM before he posted it. This clownish urologist claims that he will still treat anybody, but if his sign drives some liberals away that’s fine with him.
If anyone makes the grave mistake of reading Terry’s “Arrogant Bastards” as he invites them to in comment #14, the antidote is here:

I think Floridians should consider themselves lucky that this hack has “outed’ himself for the unprofessional crap doctor that he is.
LOL! The unexpected “quality control” aspects of Obamacare begin to emerge!
I’ll also make the observation, as a longtime healthcare warrior: Within the medical community it’s always tended to be the more highly paid specialists (like urologists) who are skeptical and resistant toward any reform, and your general-practice family doctors who, sick of dealing with insurance company hassles, embrace a single-payer system.
As my pal Dr. Don McCanne of Physicians for a National Health Plan once cracked, (hope I get this quote right) “Some of these specialists are going to have to resign themselves to driving just two sports cars instead of three.”
Vern, with all due respect, I did click on the links and read the article. Is it any surprise that, after his ethically-challenged sign got greater publicity, he’d say that he’d still treat anybody that came in.
But that’s not what the sign says, is it? And I’m guessing the sign is a much purer expression of his original intent. People tend to embellish and backtrack when faced with critical publicity.
I think his sign is a great thing.
The last thing you want to have happen is…. tell him you voted for Obama during the “swabbing”, the second to last thing is telling Dentist Orley Tiatz before she starts to drill.
I have my nice GP democratic doctor. Thank you very much. I still think I deserve dinner and a kiss after that prostate check.
A Doctor who puts up a sign that says “If you voted for Obama, seek Urological care elsewhere… changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years”, should be taken out, beaten and left for dead. And if he happens to crawl his way to a hospital to get help, a sign should be taped on his forehead, “If you’re an asshole, seek treatment elsewhere”.
Dear Dr. Cassell, It takes a brave man to express his disapproval of unfair legislation in this manner. If men could have abortions, as an urologist, I would not blame you if you refused to perform on them either. These 45 million people that voted for Obamacare do not deserve competent medical treatment from a moral Doctor such as yourself. Why dirty your hands with a heathen or goyem by examining and handling their private parts in such close quarters. Frankly it would revolt me to my stomach if I had to do this. They can find care in other countries. For example France, where there is a much higher degree of homosexuality among physicians than in the USA. There is nothing written anywhere including the Hippocratic oath that says you have to treat people whose political point of view differs from your own. I noticed the huge amount of news publicity you got, undoubtedly your practice will flourish in Florida. Congratulations. On the other hand as a way of getting back at these people, you could treat them, but give them bad prescriptions and advice and really mess them up. That would teach them. I bet once their privates fell off they would get the message. Keep them up.
