Think about it. What a great world this would have been if only—
1. George Bush’s father would have married Andrea Yates instead of Barbara Bush.
2. O.J. Simpson would have dated Lorena Bobbitt instead of Nicole Brown.
3. Nancy Pelosi would have to pay as much for makeup as we pay for gasoline.
4. Ah-nold der Grope-in-ator would have learned how to pronounce California correctly.
5. Ann Coulter’s office would have been on the 90th floor of the World Trade Center.
6. Teddy Kennedy had never gotten a driver’s license.
7. Sarah Palin would have gotten BRAIN implants.
8. Terri Schaivo would have pulled the plug on Michael Schaivo.
9. Someone would have given Rush Limbaugh a $10 gift certificate to Taco Bell.
10. Dr. Kevorkian would have been Dick Cheney’s heart specialist.

It’s interesting that here on this blog the personal attacks are ok if they are about a national figure but not a local politico.
Someone you’re wanting to attack, Pass the Dutchie? Are you feeling your free speech restricted? Well, go for it now, let it all out – we approve just about everything as long as it’s not obscene or libelous. Just don’t expect us to agree with you!
I don’t even like all of Eddie’s list here. For example, why should Michael Schiavo have been euthanized? Most of us know he was only following Terri’s wishes and putting the brain-dead woman out of her misery.
(I DID add that cool picture of the daydreaming kid – nice, huh? As long as I’m in charge here there will never be any posts without pictures – that means Larry, OverButNotOut, Sgt York, and Eddie Rose, get pics picked by me!)
But, whatchya got, Dutchie? Lay it on us!
#1 I wouldn’t call the above “personal attacks”. They’re just having fun.
For Juice readers who do not know Eddie let me say that he is a recovering Republican.
Eddie was the link for my connection with Ron and Anna Winship, producers of the Cutting Edge-a talk show, over 10 years ago.
PS: Today is Anna’s birthday.
And my last bit of insider baseball is to warn you not to play bridge with Eddie. That’s how he earns a living.
And to #1. Eddie’s post is not a personal attack.
To Eddie Rose or the POSTER:
I am a big believer in Free Speech, but I wish we would use this more responsibly…no obligation to do so, but nevertheless still a wish.
I enjoyed the list, except for one, irregardless of my personal beliefs or the belief of another person:
I do find item #5 tasteless and insensitive: “Think about it. What a great world this would have been if only—Ann Coulter’s office would have bee n on the 90th floor of the World Trade Center.”
I believe wishing ill, or implying the death of someone whose views we may disagree with are not just insensitive and callous, but this kind of thinking must always be discouraged. We should not wish ill towards someone, except under extreme circumstances where deadly force is warranted, and we should not make a mockery of the tragedy of September 11.
Francisco “Paco” Barragan (my opinions only and not those of any group)
On that particular Anne Coulter item, Paco, you may change your mind if you remember Coulter’s comment right after the attacks – she said she wished the hijackers had struck the New York Times building instead.
That was her idea of a great joke, the kind that made her a celebrity in rightwing circles for a while. You always heard “She says what we’re all thinking but are afraid to say.”
Thankfully she seems to have faded into relative oblivion of late. But I think remembering that context makes item 5 a little less outrageous, and, actually, quite right on.
#6 Vern:
I am aware that Ann C. every now and then makes outrageous and simplistic comments, but actually, I was NOT aware that she had made such a comment about the NYT building and wishing the terrorists had attacked there; nevertheless her comment would also be insensitive and callous and would be making a mockery of the tragedy of Sept 11…and it is shameful if this made her a “darling” of any group.
Hi, Vern—
(1) With respect to Terri Schaivo, the statement that Michael Schaivo was “…only following Terri’s wishes…” is simply NOT TRUE. Since Terri did not have a will, the ONLY person who knew what Terri’s wishes were was Terri herself. Furthermore, it isn’t even clear exactly what led to Terri’s comatose state. It may have been a pre-existing medical condition; it may have been an accident; or, worse yet, it may have been a homicide. Only Michael Schaivo knows for sure, and he isn’t saying. What is known for sure, however, is that Michael wanted to “pull the plug” on Terri so that he could marry his new “sweetie”. As someone else on my list once stated, “mission accomplished”!
(2) (also for Francisco’s benefit as well)— With respect to Ann Coulter, she once made the outrageous and despicable comment that “…the 911 widows are now ‘better off’…” than they were prior to 911. How’s that for chutzpah???
