Suffering from mismanagement along with a severe loss of government and other funds, ACORN is filing for bankruptcy. Acorn is holding a teleconference this weekend to discuss plans for a bankruptcy filing, two officials of the group said. They asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak to the news media. Over the last six months, at least 15 of the group’s 30 state chapters have disbanded and have no plans of re-forming.
The organization was dogged for years by financial problems and accusations of fraud. In the summer of 2008, infighting erupted over embezzlement of Acorn funds by the brother of the organization’s founder. Some chapters were also found to have submitted voter application forms with incorrect information on them during the lead-up to the 2008 presidential election.
What, no pithy response from Vern? He must be hung over from his euphoria over the healthcare monstrosity. I hope he doesn’t mind waiting in line for the new liver.

I simply do not have the time to respond to every piece of junk Crowley throws at me. I am not the guy who is paid to shovel up after the circus elephant all day and night. I am not able to scribble poison 24/7 as this Colorado recluse evidently is. I don’t have the time, energy, or interest at this moment to determine if anything he wrote here is true.
But apart from that, I get overcome by a real feeling of nausea when I try to wade through most of his posts. For example, this one looks to be motivated by pure glee at the (real or imagined) financial problems of an organization which exists solely to help the poor. Kudos to YOU if you can keep your meal down perusing it.
My fanciful but dead-on-target article detailing Crowley’s launching of a conservative counterpart to ACORN will be coming within a week or two and it will be well worth the wait.
Newbie, since you mention waits for transplants, let me ask: If I for any reason needed a new liver (perhaps from an OD of corrosive Crowley posts and malicious comments) or, say, you or Crowley suddenly decided you either wanted to have 1) a heart, or 2) balls… How long do you think the wait would be right now, without reform? And that’s assuming you’re LUCKY enough to have an insurance plan that would cover heart or balls implants for hateful bloggers and commenters, and not just cut you off?
Think about it – are you really better off without this reform? I doubt it. I’m fighting for all three of us!

So…. I went to that link finally. Trippy. Crowley’s only contribution, as usual, is his Jim Varney photo and his trademark sadistic nut-crushing graphic, but he didn’t even bother linking to the actual story he stole from, and I can’t find it (or I would help in order to protect him from further charges of plagiarism.)
What he DID link to is this amazing trove of anti-ACORN stories on Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Government” site. Looks like they literally have a different anti-ACORN story every day, or at least 20-something a month, many of them contradicting each other!
Evidently for months now, these half-dozen writers have been celebrating ACORN’s impending bankruptcy, yet the following one suggests that the bankruptcy may be merely a ruse, and ACORN’s not really bankrupt at all – just trying to get sympathy and throw attention off themselves:

The most recent story is entitled “ACORN Folds! Will Cease Operations Within Months!” But you can go back far into the archives and see the same thing. WHAT WANKERS. Almost literally. You can practically see them masturbating over the ever-imminent and hoped-for demise of the hated group.

Nor do I have the hangers-on that you have apparently accumulated over your years of intelligent and balanced posts on here, but I do strive to have a poster in the future defend me with “cuz” “gonna” and “ass-kickin'” – dare to dream.
I am saddened, however, that I am now a “hateful” commenter, as opposed to the genuine nice guy you are in your posts. I guess our tenuous truce due to our agreement over the OC Fair problem did not last as long as I had hoped.

In all seriousness, if you have an alcohol problem, then it was totally unintended as I had no idea (having just started posting a short while ago, I had no idea people took unnecessary and, frankly, disgusting, pot shots like that). It was merely my disgust at the healthcare bill that your party jammed through Congress and the manner in which they did it. The reference was meant to be tongue-in-cheek following the liberals’ (along with the “fair and balanced” MSM’s) revelry in the passage of the most recent government takeover of our lives. You do not know me well enough yet, but I hope in time you realize that I would never make light of something as serious as alcoholism. With that context, I hope it at least clears up my intent.
As for Crowley, I am not his keeper. In fact, I do not know any of the posters on here personally. Moreover, I do not blindly follow anyone who professes to be a conservative. I am happy to be held accountable for my comments, and I hope I have allayed any of your concerns that I was making a personal attack.
With that said, I will continue to post as stories pique my interest, and I will continue to speak out against the government’s ever-growing intrusion in our lives to manufacture a generation of left-voting constituents who rely on everything from cars, to food, to health care.
