This Tuesday, the Irvine City Council had a fairly interesting meeting. Originally I tried to get this out on Wednesday, but they take forever uploading the video to the Council website. I tried to remotely view it live, but the video feed was messed up so I only got audio. Nevertheless, the highlight was Francine Verbarg’s,of YouTube fame (see the video above) proposition for Town Hall style meetings (presumably to get some answers out of our council).
Initially, I thought that it was just going to be another public comment rant, which are usually just ignored by the council. Needless to say, I was impressed to find out that Christina Shea had agendized the item to facilitate productive discussion. I know city council meetings probably aren’t as interesting to you as they are me, so I’ll make it brief.
Francine Verbarg- The Political gadfly, conspiracy nut and racist that switched insurance companies because she was convinced that All State had evil connections to “La Raza”? The same francine who is unilaterally opposed to public transportation routes in Irvine, because employees from SA might use them to get to work? What I will never understand is how racists survive in racially diverse Irvine without their heads exploding daily.
Yep, she’s a peach Tyler. And as to your linked online RAG – no one who has any kind of critical thinking skills will be endorsing your efforts. You slant ALL of your writing pieces in one certain direction. How can ANYONE take what you write as being thoughtful or fair minded in “reporting”? I see that you are friendly ONLY towards Shea, on the Irvine Council. You patently dismiss Shea’s one ally, Steven Choi in your missives. Your patent bias makes you a joke.

I cancelled my $4000.00 policy with State Farm Insurance after being a loyal customer of 15 years when I learned of their support for the illegal alien advocacy group LaRaza. I attempted to be a “good neighbor” and went through the chain of command at State Farm I eventually reached the office of Edward Rust, Jr. the CEO. Long story short, they were not interested that their money which was directed at the “education” aspect of LaRaza which supports charter schools such as Academia Semillas Del Pueblo in Los Angeles, who’s mission statement included teaching “not being white” and Nuahtl language of the Aztecs and an ancient form of math that is not used, to my knowlege, anywhere in the world. I found cheaper insurance at AAA of California. I did attempt to see if THEY contributed to any unacceptable groups and to my knowlege they do not. But if I find out otherwise I will switch again.

Thanks for providing us with some background info, Red Vixen. As for my rag, you can watch the video archive for yourself. Shea was the one who was urging action on the Town Hall meeting. Honestly, even though I could find a bunch of dirt on Shea online, she definitely won the popularity contest that night. During the hearing, countless public citizens thanked Shea and Choi specifically for making the Northwood Memorial a reality. I think it may be her last-ditch effort to win the mayor’s seat, which is doubtful.
Red,
Not Tyler. This post is by Irvine Reporter. He has his own website and I invited him to cross-post here.
Welcome aboard Irvine Reporter – and thanks for your contribution. We have needed more coverage of Irvine politics for some time and I am pleased as punch that you are now cross-posting here.
My mistake. Tyler is the guy who runs a bunch of stuff against the Irvine council majority.
But if I am not mistaken, it looks like your blog is indicating that YOU are running as an independent for Irvine city council next year? And I have to agree, I do not think that Christina Shea will be able to secure the mayoral slot.
