That has happened before, but peace has always been a goal not a reality.

I think it is great Obama got the prize, but it will take a lot more than that to bring peace. I do not think any human can do so by themselves.
Perhaps the 2nd coming will bring the peace people claim to be looking for, should you believe there is going to be one.
